Jai Lucas hires Missouri Associate Head Coach Charlton Young

Big time get. Was a major factor in the recent string of FSU lottery picks.

I don’t get it because it seems like people think Hamilton is a sharp mind. And he entrusted CY just like Jai did.

The issue is not with one hire.

Individually, Pastrana, Moran, and Young are each good coaches and each are good hires.

The larger problem is that Super Recruiter Jai Lucas hired Super Recruiter Pastrana, Super Recruiter Moran, and Super Recruiter Young. In a time when NIL money is doing more of the recruiting than "relationships".

It would have been nice to hire at least one solid COACH coach. Someone who is good at drawing up plays.

But, sure, I have an "agenda"...

The larger problem is your reliance (to support your agenda) on the highly questionable supposition that none of Pastrana, Moran or Young can COACH. Such evidence as actually exists strongly suggests that the latter two at least certainly can.

What a stupid, ignorant post.

First, ALL THREE have specifically been noted for their recruiting abilities. That is not a mystery. It is their strongest suit, per their resumes. Per the UM press releases. Per the articles and porsts on this site.

Second, your bull**** about "evidence as actually exists strongly suggest that the latter two at least certainly can". That's just word-salad nonsense that specifically ignores how "certain porsters" told us that Mike Brey and Bruiser Flint were going to join the staff to provide Jai Lucas with strong on-court coaching to supplement Jai's recruiting prowess.

Brey and Flint have coaching-coach resumes far beyond Moran and Young.

---Brey was an 8-year assistant at Duke, a 5-year head coach at Delaware, and a 23-year head coach at Notre Dame. He is currently working as an assistant coach in the NBA (you know, where you don't have to recruit).
---Flint was a 5-year head coach at UMass and a 15-year head coach at Drexel. More recently, he has worked as an assistant at Indiana, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

Comparatively...

---Moran is a fine HIGH SCHOOL head coach. Yay!
---Young was a 4-year head coach at Georgia Southern, going 0.339 overal and 0.361 in-conference before being fired. Since then, he has worked as an assistant at FSU and Mizzou.

Now, who knows, maybe JUST MAYBE Moran and Young are ALSO good on-court coaches. But to say that THIS evidence "strongly suggests" that they are good on-court coaches suited for the collegiate level is just insane.

Brey and Flint? Yes. Moran and Young? You have got to be ******* kidding me. While they might have the coaching skills needed, there is NO "strong evidence" of that dubious claim, certainly not compared to Brey/Flint, particularly when the most common refrain from the Jai Lucas Support Team lauds Moran/Young for their RECRUITING abilities.

Stop bull****ting people.
