Plus, with all those "trouble-avoidance" skillz that hear learned in his one month in Lincoln, he can now handle the mean streets of Coral Gables like a boss. We should unroll the red carpet for the fifth time...

If he's more talented and sets things right with the staff, who are we to judge. We don't know what's said or goes on behind the scenes. It's up to the staff to determine what's a risk and what isn't.

Absolutely true. I am making some assumptions, as we all are. I should say, if the staff wants him, based on the 100x more they know about him and what happened than we do, then lets ride. But if they are very much against it, I don't think an apology will cut it. Kid needs some tough love, maybe.

But we are all GM's on here, no?:)

Miami gave him a second chance. He decommitted a second time.

Miami gave him a third chance, brought him in for a visit just before National Signing Day. He and his father figure were all set to pull the T-shirt game on live streaming on National Signing Day.

Miami gave him a fourth chance, called him on NSD. Francois cried, hid out in the hallway, forced his entire school to be trapped in the gym for an hour while he was in hysterics, all before he proudly picked Nebraska by ripping open his shirt.

Now a bunch of soft-shouldered, veiny-calf Miami fans want to give this kid a fifth chance because their football scout abilities have led them to project that Francois has superior CB ability to anyone on Miami's roster and recruit list, and that Francois has learnt his lesson from his five mistakes and will be a blameless, spotless, tireless worker who will be a model to his teammates and small children alike, and he will never be a team chemistry problem.

Word. Adding a kid like this doesn't seem like a way to change the culture. Since his hysterics we've landed Tae and Kam and are in on Williams... three guys many think are better than him. The situation has changed. Not sure we need to take him from a risk/reward standpoint, either, which would also mean one less kid we can take in the 2021 class.

You mean the annual CB scramble where somehow Rumph lucks into a Top 300 4 Star kid?

I remember last year one of the big selling points for this kid was that he would help us recruit the 21 kids at MNW.

Think we have done alright at MNW without him

I came to post this exact thing lol

dude was supposed to be some big chemistry guy with tons of rep at the school and could help easily pull everyone... well **** we did that without his ***

But not to gloss over it Rumph seriously needs to pull the head out of his *** and figure out how to close on the talented kids earlier instead of the scramble late with kids searching for a last min home

Nebraska fans swear it was his family trying to force him to stay home 😂 they told me the other day Francois wanted to go to Nebraska and his family was trying to force him to go to Miami at the last minute and Diaz forced him to commit 😂

I have nothing against Francois. He's a talented young man. He made a decision and chose Nebraska. Unfortunately for him, it appears it didn't turn out so well. With choices, come consequences. Miami moved on and currently has no room for him on their roster or inclination to accept him into their program anymore. Coach Diaz wants young men that want to be a Cane, not play games. He's changing the culture.

Man that culture word is tossed around so much, I dont want the kid but I find it hard to believe even on championship teams that kids are perfect. **** Winston won a title and his off field antics were off the chain lol. If it was such a culture thing why did Diaz want Jeff Thomas back? Its not like he didnt know about the kid he was here with him when MR was HC.

It’s tricky..... Anyone who tells you that kids on ANY program in the country are all completely perfect they are flat out wrong...

The thing is it’s one thing be fuggging up off the field with (maybe late to class, missed an assignment or two etc) but another thing to be a cancer on the team being ME-centric and not worried about team goals.

JT4 is a perfect example that young HC diaz learned the hard way that yes the kid is an NFL that can help you win games but if you are in rough waters and need team chemistry to get the ship right people like that only keep sailing you deeper into the crashing waves.

Thats on all parties involved don’t get me wrong certain coaches can handle quite a few JT4s ala Urban, Jimmy, PeteCarroll etc.... but diaz obviously can’t

Going 6-7 means he should have been even more picky about who he brought in here. Flipcois was a horrible evaluation, and he just proved it by quitting after 1 practice and 5 months at Nebraska.

We lucked out. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good, but you can't lean on luck too often when it comes to evaluations.

By all accounts the 2020 Class is full of locker room guys. Sometimes you take a gamble on a guy with some character issues when the majority of the team is solid. I don’t think you’ll find too many coaches willing to turn down a few talented players with some character flaws. The ship has sailed on Francois but I don’t think he had Alex Figueroa, Kevin Olsen type character issues.

If Diaz wasn't here under the previous regime I would say I get it but he was here all that time.

Are kids transferring more or we just hearing more about through social media? Athletes been transferring for years. We as Adults are always looking for the better opportunity, and so should these kids. No matter what their reasons are. But at the same time, they have to be ready for what outcome of their choices will be as well.

Those mid 90’s Nebraska teams had some wild dudes. I remember some crazy stories about Christian Peter’s antics up there.

We still need a ton of work on our evaluations. If you want to be real for a minute, the scary part is that Flipcois was another horrible character evaluation by Manure. He fell in love with his physical traits and ignored the diva behavior and lack of heart and grit. You generally don't win with guys like this, but there we were begging him at the end even though he had flipped on us twice already.
