Would it be fair to say this is a more recent comparison and sign of what Jacurri can become with continued work? Hopefully quicker than 4 years though!

Or is Jacurri’s potential higher?

Hooker looks good in the right system and his accuracy definitely increased. When he played at Va Tech against us earlier in his career he couldn’t pass at all!

In my opinion, it’s too early to say at this point.

Much will depend on the OC, QB coach and the offense that Jacurri plays under moving forward, as well as him working really hard during the off-season with a QB whisperer/guru to try and see if he can improve his mechanics and accuracy.

Jacurri is still very raw and doesn’t decide when to run quick enough at times. As the game slows down for him I think that he will be able to rip off some big runs like he did in high school. He doesn’t seem too shifty to me, but once he gets to full gear, he’s fast for being such a big (PAUSE) dude.

If he can focus on the aforementioned and Mario doesn’t ruin him, he has high upside. But 136 yds. passing, or whatever it was that he ended up with isn’t going to cut it against most good teams.

Jacurri is a better athlete IMO. Brown is much more dangerous as a runner. Jacurri's growth as a passer will determine how good he can be. I would like to see TVD come back and give Brown another year to develop as a passer then let him compete for the starting job in 2024.

I kind of was felling the not as twitchy as Vince Young comparison. Now im talking early version and lets see where it goes so dont go killing me.But I think hes got lots of tools.

Hooker looked pretty terrible at VT but is now a Heisman candidate at UT. The right coach and the right system can make a huge difference. Jacurri is a bit of a project but clearly has some very useful skills. Get him a real OC and QB coach and he might break out.

JB is loaded with upside, I recommend QB camps plus just getting together with Restrepo every single day training in offseason bright and early EVERY DAY 7 days a week.
Then we will have QB threat like never before, I get excited about the possibilities.
JB has a good heart a team player with loads of patience.

He’s very special, play JB the rest of the way and let him shine and make aggressive mistakes.

We got something very special just waiting to hatch open 🙌🙌🙌

GOCANES

All depends on the OC next year with who the system will be geared towards and who stays.
Can you guys seeing Mario hiring an OC based on what suits TVD so he sticks around for one more year?
I don’t either. That‘s why I have a gut feeling TVD leaves.

So depending on OC next year, we might need to get ready for lots of JB - just hope he stays back this summer or goes to QB camps/coach all summer because he CAN see a significant improvement/breakout next year with improved OL line play and more experienced WRs.

I respectfully oppose this way of thinking.

The time is now for Jacurri Brown.

I think Jacurri is more athletic and dynamic than Hooker.

A bigger version of Jordan Travis, a player that as a freshman couldn’t make a throw to save his life but developed into a very very good college football QB.

I think TVD injury is worse , rotation issues they don’t go away.
I feel terrible for him he’s a good kid and needs healing which means he’s finished for this year and means JB is the MAN our future.
Life throws us all curve balls and they are tough to handle.
Push TVD is a huge mistake let him portal if it helps him but we’ve got our QB , TVD should not throw till summer it may be worse.

I doubt TVD plays hardly anymore meaningful snaps at UM unless Brown is complete trash against Clemson. Brown’s acceleration is different and he’s gone go crazy when he gets caught up to this level of play

I actually think both TVD and Jacurri will benenfit from he same spread system, but for different reasons.
Spread works for TVD because he can make any throw needed and having the field spread as we had last season gave him quick reads
Spread works for Jacurri because he need more defenders out of the box so that he can run when needed.

Gotta love the kid but.......don't do this,

I think Brown is more DJ from Clemson. JB is a better Runner and a touch lighter at the same point. but DJ literally will fall forward for 4-5 yards.

DJ has pretty poor touch still….it’s better but he still misses a lot high. So hopefully that career track changes over the next 2 years

From a PHYSICAL STANDPOINT..Vince Young?? Haven't heard that one mentioned yet as a comp.
The degree of improvement with accuracy will likely determine Brown's ceiling. And I know we should expect  some improvement with that skill. Any experts out there care to weigh-in on the likelihood of a qb that struggles with accuracy developing into a big-timer. I understand every case is different, but generally speaking.
