Spring football is in swing and the board keeps expanding. Here is the latest on recruiting:

- Miami is hosting several big unofficial visitors tomorrow, including QB Dereon Coleman (Orlando), RB Derrek Cooper (Chaminade), WR Jasen Lopez (Chaminade), OL Joel Ervin (Fort Myers), LB Jordan Campbell (Carol City), DB Jaelan Waters (Armwood), DB Andre Clarke (Richmond, VA) and DB Justice Fitzpatrick (STA).

The Canes continue to trend heavily for Waters and, while not as far along, I am optimistic on Lopez. He is a high-priority target...

I mean he definitely has the frame to be a linebacker in the future if defense is the side of the ball they prefer him on. Dude is dynamic as a big WR. He goes to my Alma mater and he trains with my son so I see him often. He is as big or bigger than some of the local recruits that are being recruited as LBs by P4 schools. He’s working hard on his skills as a DB currently but I can see him being closer to the ball and in less open space as being beneficial for him. But he did lock down USC enrollee WR Corey Simms in the playoff game. Completely took him out the game. While being unstoppable at WR.

I’m here at training now talking about him. He actually prefers to play Safety. There’s a few schools recruiting him at LB but he sees himself as a pro Safety and that’s what he is preparing himself for.
 

- Jacob Eberhart is one of the top linebackers on Miami's board. A late bloomer in the Class of 2026, plenty of schools have been working hard to acquire the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder out of Missouri, and Miami made quite the impression this weekend. Corey Hetherman's defense plays intensely, and Eberhart is viewed as an athletic scheme fit with versatility in the back seven. The Hurricanes moved the needle this weekend, but have to find a way to beat programs like USC, Illinois, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, Nebraska, and others.

Illinois probably has as good a shot as anybody in his list.

Hooo well i like the Burns kid they just offered out of Louisiana as the same type of player.

Took too long to recruit him at safety instead of LB and heard he didn’t particularly like his visit. Bama has a decent shot at getting him. Mizzou probably has the edge over Illinois…family ties both ways tho.

yea his dad played at illinois and appears still involved with school.
