Can we talk about the Miami reporters whiffing on this so badly the past 2 days?

When it was the Steve WiltFong and UGA publisher Rusty Mansell that was screaming smoke the entire time?
Maybe. Or, they were told to shut the **** up. Gaby gets a lot of warranted hate, but he’s not Ivins. He’s clearly a fan and I doubt he’d self sabotage the program for a win in one recruitment story.

George Pickens was like this, he was still taking calls on the way up to the podium. It’s never over.

Gaby got played by the staff
People at Miami have been telling everyone they had no confidence in this one for days. Last time this happened was McClain. I just happened to know somebody close to that one or I’d been lied to as well. Or should I say manipulated. I did say yesterday they were making a hard push even though that normally doesn’t end well.

This is why I don't even follow recruiting anymore. One of many reasons.

A) Nobody knows anything anymore and it changes instantly
B) Even if you land them, they're more likely to suck and/or finish their career elsewhere

I'll take one for the good guys though.

A welcome albeit surprising development here. This would send a message to the rest of the class. Not even that we got a great player as much as the fact that if you come to Miami, not only will you be at a world class university and in a world class city but you WILL GET PAID

Georgia was confident they had him during and after the visit. Somebody on their side text me Sunday night that its done. Not getting any response today. This is wild.

I get it.. and if I were in their shoes, I'd have a hard time allocating the money elsewhere.. especially after the 2 years Mario just had...

but in hindsight, there's a chance that if they were willing to spend the money earmarked for Jeremiah on transfer DBs instead, we had a chance at a national title...

Again, not disagreeing at all. But that's not how this works for Miami. Not sure how it works elsewhere, but this is more of a "we want the #1 recruit in the country" more than "we want to permanently increase our NIL commitment by $2M".

So the website that put out that bull**** hit piece about Miami NIL are all changing tune right before the decision… get ready to be hurt
