The 10 year contract had nothing to do with expecations of on field results. It was part of the entire package Mario required to leave Oregon.
And LMAO at the admin at the University of Miami ever having a ******* clue about what it takes or how long to build a football program. I mean, did you actually think before you wrote that?
Lastly, you believing it would take 4-5 years to build us into an ACC Champion or a playoff team is such a low standard and embarrassing.
Explain to me how SMU, in it's first year in the ACC, made it to the ACCG and the playoffs with a quarter of the talent UM has and a 2nd year HC?
I understand and agree that all that matters is the result. SMU made it to the ACCCG, we did not. But I think we were just as good, and likely better, than SMU last year. And really, all of that is moot, it's last year and it's one year. Do I think 5 years is ridiculous to expect Miami to build a solid program and have tangible results? Of course. But I like what's being built here in that it's built to last.
Much like TCU a couple years ago. Would you have hired Sonny Dykes? OK coach, but he's not moving the needle. They were a flash in the pan for one season, and that whole off-season I told people to just take a breath and see what happens the following year. They went 5-7 and 8-4 the last 2 years. Right back to where they belong.
So **** yeah, it's embarrassing that SMU went to the ACCCG last year and we didn't. I'm sick and tired of not winning this diarrhea bucket league. But this program is trending positively. 5 wins, 7 wins, 10 wins. Nobody can deny that. Let's see how this year goes. And the next. I think the program, overall, in totality, is in infinitely better shape than it was when Mario got here. And a lot of that is just due to the influx of support, no doubt. But we literally don't have it if Mario isn't here, so that's part of his deal.
Just win this league this year. Please. For the love of ******* god.
I think we have the talent to do it. Pray to Baby Jesus that Carson Beck's elbow is 100% good very soon, and we'll be fine.
