Even pre-portal, good coaches delivered results faster than that. And in the portal era, 4-5 years is absurd.

The program has progressed but continues to underachieve, and the recruiting hasn't quite been elite. We'll see what happens this year.

The ones that delivered the faster results….was it sustained? Cause the ones I remember the result is a year or two of good then back to the shtter.
 
With the transfer portal as crazy as it is a recruit would be crazy to follow another recruit to a school. I’m sure Mauigua is glad he didn’t fall for Nico’s sell job when he OV’d Tennessee a few years ago. We live in a college era where making the decision that is best for you has never been more important. Here today..in the portal tomorrow.

Portal hasn't been around long enough to say.

FSU obviously crashed last year, but that wasn't a quick turnaround (they sucked Norvell's first 2 seasons.) Lane Kiffin has sustained Ole Miss's success. Heupel has done a great job at Tennessee. We'll see how Lashlee does next year. Same for Deion.
