Cantwell plays against Missouri level talent which is subpar and Pepe lacks upper body strength/development so they are not 100% day 1 ready guys

I think the problem is missing on both Pepe & Cantwell then just wipes out room for anymore error/misses. We now basically have to land Jones, Kolojay, and Pickett to call this OL class a success. We needed a ready to play OT and two ready to play guards. With the latter group we might have achieved the guard objective yet we will need to pay a premium portal price at OT unless Samson takes a leap.

This. they have ~ 10 first round draft picks at OL in the last 8-9 years. Mario has what - 1 and soon to be 2 - in that time frame?

One of them 100 percent is starting day 1 here cantwell is a freak strength Missouri talent is just fine it’s not Kansas lol. Pepe strength is good enough for 17/18 year old he’d be perfectly fine after a spring on campus they are both 3 and done quality prospects

If you have an elite offensive line factory, your true freshmen don't need to start Week 1 in their freshman year. Mauigoa did because we were ready to retire John Campbell's jersey when he got here, that's the landscape of the OL the past decade here.

Regardless of Week 1 in 2026 though, who gives a ****? These are elite, blue-chip recruits at a position where the top end ranked talent usually pans out way more than it busts. Just sign the ******* kid and get him here, the rest is totally irrelevant.
 
I still have faith but it doesn’t feel like UM has any MO (pun intended).

Either way, keep plugging away and hope for the best… only shining light? He never took OV to UM. That could still happen even after commitment, try and schedule that and see what happens.

You know I agree but I don’t take Peter to be a bull****ter since his return to cis. Sounded like he was getting info directly from the horses mouth of someone on staff… but that could also be a spin job from the staff you’re right
