Jack Spicer? Kickoff Duties?

These threads about Feagles crack me up, as if everything else about the offense was running silky smooth, but the punter is the one thing that held the team back. There were some games where Feagles had 7 punts by halftime, which is absurd. The fact that we had to see so much of Feagles is an indictment on the offense, not on Feagles.

Im cannot share that opinion. Feagles had some mechanical issues that made him inconsistent. Once you accept that you realize that him being on the field was a crap shoot with the odds in favor of a muffed punt. To your point, him having to punt so much made the issue become more apparent and more detrimental to the team, but the core issue (Feagles mechanical issue) is still at hand.

Oh, Feagles definitely had issues and got off some absolute turds, I'm not arguing against that. I just think the number of threads about him are way disproportionate to the impact he actually has. Does anyone remember how terribly Clemson's punter played?

Have to play this kid on name only. Agent "Jack Spicer" CIA sounds about right or maybe super spy. Or maybe we clandestinely send him to Jobe and make him an offer he can't refuse. In football maybe a middle linebacker. Kicker? Nah unless he karate chops a couple of rushers then kicks the ball out of the stadium. I'm bored tonight. Where's Pete?

I watched those two guys punt in warmups and halftime all season. Very comparable, to the point I sometimes confused who was who. Spicer had smoother technique but not as much variety.

The games were very representative of the warmup sessions. Every time I started to believe Feagles was improving he'd hit some ducks that forced the kid retrieving the ball to race forward to the 15 yard line. These punts sourced from midfield. Catchers stand at the goal line.
