Jack Allison...

Tell me about his ability to run for a first down. I don't need Cam Newton, but can we get our quarterbacks to be able to scramble to move the sticks and not look like old women on ice skates.

Allison is not a 5 star can't miss QB, but he's a good prospect that you take everytime. I think that's the problem on this board. Oftentimes we build kids up to what they are not. Did the same thing with Olsen. He was a take , but the baby Jesus hyperbole was way off. If we get the Bentley kid from Alabama next year, I wouldn't be shocked at all if he beat Allison out after Kaaya graduates. He's just as solid of a prospect as Allison is, and we definitely have a shot because of Richt and the appeal of receiving an UM education.

Allison is tough ,a real competitor . Will get bigger and stronger. Has a fine arm and reasonably accurate and has the requisite height. He will have a great tutor .I expect he will have competition for the starting job when its time as Richt will continue to recruit quarterbacks. How successful will he be ? No one knows until he gets meaningful minutes. Lots of Qb's ranked 5 stars with great measurables were busts . Allison has a good chance to be a fine qb.

What;s up with poeople who somehow bash joe Yeabby because Dalvin COok is an elite back?

Joe Yearby is a stud and is running behind an awful offensive line that was all new starters. Do you understand that?

Joe Yearby will be playing in the NFL and be a very good player. He is an ELITE pass catcher out of the backfield and despitie his speed he has the best vision and cutting ability we've had in a long time.

Duke had more explosiveness, but IMO Joe Yearby is a more skilled RB.
Duke is just as good if not a better pass catcher out the backfield then yearby lol do you not see him catching bombs this year and toe tapping in the end zone?

yes I saw that, but one play in which he ran a fly route does not mean he's a better pass catcher out of the backfield.

do you know what routes are? I've routinely seen JOe Yeaby literally make LB's fall down coming out of the backfield.
Duke did that his final year here. When he was starting to be used correctly.

Did you watch Cincinnati game last year when yearby had almost a hundred receiving and rushing?

Coley dropped the ball big time using yearby this year especially when berrios went down. He has an elite skills et coming out of the backfield. Literally unstoppable in the slot vs a lb or nickel slot cause he's that good. I said in post a few weeks ago. Yearby should've easily topped 2000 all purpose yds this season.

Man Yearby is a BEAST out of the backfield. Matter of fact int he open field, he is as lethal as anyone.

Joe Yearby is going to be terrific next year, and he's going to be playing in the NFL. He has that type of skillset.

Right will coach him up and he'll have to wait. **** Rosier may beat him so just ******* wait no HS kid is a finished product

He's similar to Duke in that a big physical rb sharing carry's with him would've made him soooooo versatile. Gus and Homer will be incredibly important and Walton may be even better then Walton

From What i seen on Gameday Allison was the 2nd best QB there behind Malik Henry who just look like a Vet out there. Allison has a long way to go to understand the game and to be more quick with his decisons. maybe its from lack of trusting his receivers in High School. his footwork needs a little work as well. he has potential to be really good though. talent is def there.

Watching the UA game it was Malik Henry then Jack Allison, then everyone else. Allison's good. Give Richt sometime with him. ****, why are we worried right now? He's probably not taking a snap until 2017 at the earliest.

none of you guys, including me, knows much about how allison is gonna turn out.

yes, he has good measurables. yes, he has poor stats. neither are 100% predictors. but, both are legit reasons for optimism and concern.

i prefer a qb to have a good head on him and too many int's are a red flag for me. i can live without a ton of TD's/yards if the surrounding talent truly is horrible in comparison to the opposing teams being played against. but, if im forced to make a prediction on this kid, most on here wouldnt like it.

He has some scrambling ability. He won't be mistaken for Ron Mexico though.

My only issue with the kid is his mechanics, his motion at times is clunky and his footwork is a mess but those are things you can coach, he will need a redshirt for sure but the kid is a stud and has everything you want in a QB, size, mobility, arm strength, accuracy its all there, he just needs to be coached up right

Forget everybody else... tell us how you really feel!

Well all you have to go on are his numbers, jeff driskel had great numbers, jacory harris, robert marve, kyle wright, brantley

You also gotta look at his school, hes not getting any good coaching there, and a horrible supporting staff, the kid needs to work on his fundamentals no doubt but he is the goods

It seems like everybody on this board has no faith in Evan Sheriff. When Kaaya leaves this guy will be the starter.

Good news is we have 3 QBs on the roster right now who can play, and by the time we need Allison to compete 2018, we'll still have two of them and likely at least 2 more. I know saying Shireffs can play is a bit of a leap, but the reports on our QBs historically have been very accurate and his reports are good. Look forward to seeing him sling it this Spring.

Thanks. That is all I am really asking for from our quarterbacks at this point. Between Harris, Morris and Kaaya, they make Eli Manning look like Ron Mexico.

It's up to Richt to coach him up. Allison was a Coley kid. I actually think Coley has an eye for QBs. If CMR didn't like JA he should've immediately looked elsewhere. He didn't do so.

Quarterback are tough to predict. Look at Kyle Wrights time here. If KW had been here to play on some of thos Dorsey teams his time might have been different. Of course I'll ask the obvious question, in any world does KW have a better career than KD?
