Older brother didn’t have a good game against BYU however still leads the team in rushing yards on the season. Father is a former power lifter turned Strength coach/AD at his HS. Good background for a RB.
Jonaz and Javian are actually tied for highest ypc for any true freshman RBs; their 7.5 YPC is good for 7th in the nation (first, at 9.6 ypc, is a Stanford transfer, now at Cincy as a junior, who averaged 3.9 ypc last season).
His brother had a higher workload earlier on in HS; so makes Jacez is a bit behind Jonaz in terms of star rating. Jacez is putting up similar numbers on the ground; feel like some teams will want to see his progress in track and field to make sure he is on a similar trajectory as Jonaz. His brother was faster and stronger at the same stage. However, he’s already shown there’s a lot to like.
ND seems hesitant to pull the trigger here. Doubtful he is a take for us either atm. Still, his recruitment is one to watch as our board has expanded beyond Xander Edwards; another ND legacy.
