Jabril Robinson to transfer

Saban tried to block a grad transer of that DB from Bama to UGA. Smith, I think. He almost came here, and ended up going to Bama, which never made sense since he was a grad transfer. Which leads to the question, can a school "block" a grad transfer (as Saban tried to do with the DB), and would Dabo do it to an ACC school for this kid.

Schools have no say in where you transfer once you graduate, you're done there technically. It's considered an academic transfer.

Your statement is incorrect sir
The rule, which dates to 2005, allows an athlete who’s completed his degree to transfer and play immediately if the current school doesn’t offer his or her preferred graduate program.
Student-athletes who have earned their bachelor’s degree may also participate in athletics as a graduate student at another Division I college provided they meet certain criteria (NCAA Bylaw 14.6.1) or obtain an NCAA waiver.

Sorry, but putting all your eggs in the Willis basket is questionable. Not only has he been unable to stay on the team so to speak, you have no idea what he'll do once the action starts. I hope he's fantastic, but there's not a lot of evidence at this point.
Ok, so you're saying he starts over Willis

Don't be obtuse.
So you're too dense to see he's transferring because he doesn't want to be a backup or insurance.

I’m against blocking of transfers in any form, graduate or undergraduate. It’s not Saban, it’s the NCAA.

- Getting a plane ticket for Robinson to come down to Miami: $345

- Paying OT for the coaches to meet him: $4934

- Making sure he has a good time in Miami: $12,750

- Knowing that you have gotten so under the skin and in the head of Tetragrammaton Cane that he defaces your avatar like a Eight Year Old...PRICELESS!!!

BTW, that's a Havanese, the official dog of Cuba. You got a problem with Cuba on a Miami board?

I agree on Willis career so far , but have hope mainly because its his money $$$$$$ year for Sundays
might be a reach but that is what we have to hang our hats on to guarantee his play this year as well as keeping his head in the game

He might not be a first round pick but no offense to our guys we don’t have any 1st round locks at DT next season
He's 6' 2" 270. He's better than Willis? Otherwise, how does he start or get major playing time?
How can you say we need more bodies at DT. If we close with Chatman, we have Silvera, Miller, and the DT transfer from Illinois. How many DT are we going to have on the squad?

I don't know, but if he were going to do it, an ACC school would make sense. If he's got any regard for the kid's ability, he doesn't want to see him in the ACCCG next year.

You know what? You're right. If that's how things end up then there will be no need for more bodies.

Seriously, did you not read the the NCAA rule on this. The fact is schools cannot dictate where you transfer after you graduate, there are stipulations that the SA must meet, but it's not up to the school.

Apparently you don't posses very good reading comprehension skills, I never made a comment about him starting over Willis. You on the other hand have penciled in Willis to be the savior of the DL, all I said is I'm not putting a whole lot of faith in Willis until he steps on the field in the fall. So IMO we should get as many competent lineman as we can as a back-up plan.

The school can block , hence the reason the bama db went public about bama not letting him transfer to uga. They eventually released them be side of criticism from media.

The Cuse Dt that just announced he was a grad transfer was blocked from all acc teams.

I was wrong, Miami is blocking Sheriffs from what I just read. Makes no sense to me, kids a graduate.
