It is ludicrous. So is college football w/ fanbases’ expectations & boosters donating multimillions to revenue generating football programs.

I have a poisoned oak tree to sell you if you think that Greg Byrne has sole authority over who the Alabama football coach is.

DeBoer isn't the problem, NIL is. It is the great equalizer. It's a huge reason why Saban jumped ship. The days of 2 SEC teams plus OSU dominating CFB are over.

Look NIL is the great equalizer because most kids nationally don't want to be in bama but if they were paying and no one else was, they went there. now kids can go to a school they want to live at.
 
Alabama is currently on track to get none of the top 10 players in their state, and have two (QB, DT) of the top 25 committed while in contention for two more within the top 25 (WR, S).
 
We definitely backed off of some quality edges, price must just be through the roof with some of them
