ITT We Follow Potential 2015 Coaching Candidate Week 4

No, but he's better than some coach from Memphis. He coached the Raiders, as in the NFL. And USC. It's not even comparable.

And how many Super Bowl rings does Charlie Weis have? He also had 10-win seasons and back-to-back BCS bowl game appearances at Notre Dame. The "best" résumé doesn't necessarily equal the best coach. Kiffin was fired from both of those jobs. ****, he was fired mid-season at SC.

Miami is on the edge of total irrelevance. We need a real HC, not some coordinator or, worse yet, some coordinator who's proven to be a failure as a HC (see *****in, Lame and Rob Dudzinski).

If you don't hire Butch Davis, then make a real HC like Gary Pinkel tell you no. Pinkel is one of the absolute best in the business, but he knows he'll never win a NC at Missouri. If he's got that desire in him to finish his career as a winner, he might jump.

If not Davis or Pinkel, then get another guy who has proven he can win as a HC like Justin Fuente. In fact, if Fuente has another good year this year after losing most of his team from last year, then hire that mf'er immediately.

No more MAC coaches like Justin Fuente. That formula has never worked here.

Fuente ain't in the MAC. And guess who started his career coaching in the MAC? That's right. Nick Saban was the HC at Toledo.

Just my opinion but no way do we hire butch even though we all want him. The same group that hired coker, shannon and golden is not going to bring butch back. Especially after the mess at unc. I know i know he wasnt linked to it but he was there during that time.

I personally think chud is our best option. He runs a great offense and he has nfl experience. As a carolina panthers fan i got to watch every game he called and he was amazing.

Chud has NFL experience as a loser. Dan Henning and Rich Kotite had NFL experience too. Wouldn't want either.

If Chud didn't play here no one would even be thinking about him. He's a guy who failed as a HC and has had decent success as a coordinator. There are a million guys just like him who are getting no mention because they didn't play here.

Lol at CaneintheBrain. The guy has gone full ****** or he's trolling. His list is trash and he's dumber than a door ****.

I have a novel idea. If you want someone from the Gary Patterson tree.... HIRE GARY PATTERSON. He's at TCU for christ sake. TCU. Good God, Michigan just hired a coach from the San Francisco 49ers, Alabama hired a coach from the Miami Dolphins, and we can't steal TCU's coach????

This program is going to drive me to drink.

1. We could've hired Patterson when he was at a "MAC" school back in 2006, but we pulled the trigger on Shannon instead. Now he's making $4 million at TCU, they've moved to a Power 5 conference, and they're ranked #3 in the nation. Highly doubt he's going anywhere, but sure, I'd give him a call.

2. Saban resigned because he was a bad fit in the pros.

3. Harbaugh was fired. He wasn't poached from the 49ers.

We can't just hire whoever the **** we want. Coaches have to actually be available.

You don't know that Patterson won't come here until you know. It's still just TCU. They're never gonna get the kind of quality player Miami is capable of getting, especially when Texas and Oklahoma start rolling again. Plus, maybe his wife likes the beach. Maybe his boss is a ****. Point is, you don't know until you know.

Saban was straight up poached from the Dolphins. Alabama boosters were talking to him when he was still coaching Miami, and he chose to leave the Phins for the Alabama job.

Harbaugh is no different from Pagano. Yet, according to some people, it's completely unrealistic, while Harbaugh to Michigan was totally normal.

You don't know who is going to bite, that's why you go out there, find the best candidates, and are aggressive and you open your wallet and sell the **** out of the Canes job. You don't "settle" for scraps if you really want to win.

And Saban in the MAC? That's nice. Sure was. Then he made a pit stop at Michigan State, won a national title at LSU, head coach of the Miami Dolphins, before Alabama poached him.

Notice how Alabama didn't hire him right out of the MAC. That would be beneath them. But Miami? Oh sure, it's fine for our low-expectation-having fans.

Let's just go get a MAC coach and win the coastal, that fits the narrative.

I'm not a Kiffin fanboy. There are better options. However, he's at least qualified to do the job, unlike Fuente or any of these other coordinators and MAC coaches.

Unlike Miami, USC actually had real sanctions during Kiffin's tenure. They were playing with half a roster, practically. Nobody could win under those conditions.

I said I'd give Patterson a call, but that doesn't mean he's interested.

Harbaugh was FIRED. If Pagano gets fired, then maybe he'd be interested. But if he's happy in Indy, he's not going to leave a contender with a young phenom at QB to drop down to college.

Saban left because he was a bad fit in the pros, i.e. he wasn't happy.

Just answer me this: would you pursue Charlie Weis? Super Bowl rings, BCS bowl appearances at Notre Dame.

You want him?

So do you want Schiano? Wannstedt? Weis? Denny Green? Jim Fassell?

All of them are available.

How long before we get to hear, " we can't afford to pay a buyout and a great coach plus staff"
Butch Davis would like a word with you

They didn't renew Pagano's contract, so this is his last year in Indy. That's as good as getting fired. And, if Harbaugh wanted another NFL job, he could have had one. He chose to go back to college.

Charlie Weis? No I don't think so. He failed at Notre Dame and then failed at Kansas.

I dont jusge chuds head coaching job. He was given no time with a **** organization.

He was great with the panthers and utilized his players to get the most out of them. I just think he would be a great hire.

Exactly. IF Chuck Pagano gets fired and chooses to go back to college, sure, give him a call. Whatever.

Kiffin has failed everywhere, but he's on your list.

Michigan State then was probably about the level of job Miami is now. Sucks to suck.

We should already be in his ear with the hard sell. It shouldn't be "whatever." That wait and see attitude is why Miami sucks as a school. While we're waiting around, someone else will hire him.

Build a stadium at the old orange bowl site? Meh, sure, whatever. We'll see what Beckham wants to do.

Build an indoor practice facility? Meh. If someone wants to donate, I guess I suppose we'd like to do it.

Maybe it's a Miami cultural thing, from all the third world immigrants who make up the city's majority population. I don't see the aggressiveness, optimism, and the "can do" attitude you see in the rest of the country. You guys seem more pessimistic and lacking in self-belief.

Probably true. Doesn't mean we should lower the bar, though.

Kiffin sucks. His dad is the only reason he ever got big jobs

Maybe. So how come people want to hire someone who works underneath him.... Mario Cristobal?

If Mario were so great, don't you think Saban would give him Kiffin's job?

People think Chuck Pagano will be fired? Seriously?

He is 33-15, they made the playoffs 3/3 times, went 3-3 in the playoffs and he did it while having cancer. Not bad for a first time HC.
