ITT We Discuss Possible Golden Replacements

Yeah, masterful idea. The lady prez signs off on Doc Holiday and he brings along Trooper Taylor and Randy's boy, Clint. And the NCAA sets up a satelite office in S. Fl.

This Dude tried to scare our recruits away from Miami by using Bryan Pata and Sean Taylor's deaths. This dude is the biggest P.O.S. out there....no.

Sounds like a ruthless dude you want recruiting for you. Tired of being the nice guy who gets **** on. Bring back the bad guys.

His understanding of how to win at Miami is unparalleled.

His eye for talent at the player level and coach level is second to none.

"His understanding of how to win at Miami is unparalleled." Funny.

He was 1-5 vs. FSU, 1-5 vs. VT, 0-2 vs. East Carolina. Lost 66-13 to Syracuse the week before beating undefeated UCLA. Short memories around here.[/QUOTE]

I hope you know more about fornicating than you know about Miami football.

Then again . . .

All that is true but once he built his team in 2000 we were the best team in the nation. That 2000 team that destroyed UF in the bowl game was every bit as good as the 2001 team.

No thanks on Butch, i feel folks are enamored with butch just because of his past & for nostalgia sake..

Considering what he accomplished in the basketball state of NC - in a very short time - no, that's not nostalgia - it's proven capability and accomplishment.

Whoever it is, he has to come in and convince this 2014 class to stick.

That's going to be some feat.

Cribby,

Why do you say he won't coach here? I'm well aware of his prior tenure here and his perceived baggage, but none of it seems that bad.

It wasn't him leaving, it was how he left. Not to regurgitate the whole story , but he ****ed a lot of the wrong people off.

Fans wouldn't waste their time discussing him as a candidate if they really knew how impossible it was.

Sorry to rustle jimmies, but it WON'T happen!!

Hey I was among the many who were completely p o'd when he changed his mind and Schiano had already left. That said, it was only last year that Butch revealed the raw deal that the U tried to foist on him which as I recall (but not positively remember) was an outrageously out of line buy out to extend his contract.

HC Rob Chudzinski
QB/OC Ken Dorsey (currently with Panthers)
RB Hurlie Brown
WR Lamar Thomas (currently at Western Kentucky)
OL Mike Sullivan (Let go by Browns)
TE Brennan Carrol

DC Jim Leavitt
DL Kevin Patrick (Unemployed was with USF)
LB Mike Barrow
DB Mike Rumph

I would prefer Coley as the QB/OC, instead of Dorsey, for now.
I think Carroll is gone...isn't there an opening for TE coach at UofWashington?
I also want Telly Lockett on the staff. Perhaps have him coaching TE, or flip
him with Hurlie to RB.
On the defensive side, Leavitt would be a dynamic addition.
I don't think that is realistic.
How about Dave Wannstedt?
He is getting up there in age, sometimes coaches
in that phase of life stick with college, ala Dave Campos at Kansas.
I want someone with major college fb coaching experience. So, instead of Rumph,
I would like someone like Troy Douglas who has worked for Leavitt (USF) and
Butch (UNC).
I want Rumph to work at his craft at American Heritage, and help us deliver some
of his talent in the process.

Petrino or Butch would both succeed. They are both, uh, "questionable" I guess. Schiano or Chud would both more than likely be successful. More than likely both of those would want to so they could climb back to the NFL, which has been a good MO with us anyway. I'm happy with any of those hires, but not equally. But at the end of the day, any of those four would succeed IMO.

Agree but rank them:
1 Butch
2 Petrino
3 Schiano (most likely to move on to pros)
4.Chud
