ITT We Discuss Possible Golden Replacements

Donna would have no problem hiring Franklin. As for 25 mill buyout, if true Franklin needs to find a new agent.

Pretty sure he makes more than Al does. Both private universities so can't know for sure but media ppls saying Franklin makes at least 3

what is with the obsession with Schiano and this board? is it just because he coached here? he was only here for 99-00 and then bolted to Rutgers where he brought the program to its peak in '06 however never finished better than second in league play. I just don't get how people can sit here and think he would be better than Golden. They both accomplished simple things except Golden is the better recruiter and has been an amazing face for Miami the last three years

Anyone who is excited about the possibility of Golden leaving is dumb to think it won't have a big negative impact on this program and put us even further into rebuilding.

How much is Vandy paying Franklin?

Reportedly $3 million. Honestly, Miami could match or exceed that it wants to do so. Golden makes over $2 million. The thing with Franklin is he is always going to be mid-tier SEC Eastern Division guy at Vandy. Florida hires Charlie Strong after they're done with Muschamp. Tennessee will right the ship. South Carolina will remain solid. Even Kentucky is a problem with Stoops.

Best realistic coach on the market. I want Golden to stay but if he left Miami isn't going to do any better than Franklin. Butch ad Petrino are better options but aren't realistic.

If the athletic department was serious about winning the moment Golden left they'd have Bobby Petrino on a plane. Not too often Miami can get a guy that good at an affordable price. Miami would be a title contender in 2-3 years. JMO.

I think Chad Morris would be a great hire. I think he's Malzahn 2.0. His offense with the players available here would be just what we need. Duke in an Ellington role, Coley in a Watkins role. Berrios working the slot. I think this would help in our efforts to get Gibson for next year too. Also, it would allow us to keep Coley on staff and learn from a probenecid play caller in the ACC. Only question would be defense but this is what I would like the staff to look like(hypothetically, but realistic)

HC- Chad Morris
OC- Coley
RB- Juajuan Seider(May not leave alma mater but even as we're down this is still an upgrade from WV)
TE- Carroll
WR- Trooper Taylor(I know he has cloud over head but I think he's been cleared of everything)
OL- ? Not really sure on this one. Pete mentioned retaining Kehoe but Ive been disappointed with him

DC- Jim Leavitt
DL- Patrick
LB- Barrow
CB- Hurley

Franklin would be a very interesting choice. He can be 3rd-4th best team in the SEC East or he can choose to dominate the ACC Coastal. Thats not a hard sell for Blake James if Golden chooses to leave.
