It is what it is - I can't wait to see the meltdown on this forum when we hire one of those guys, it will be epic. We aren't getting Butch, Chud , Petrino or Schiano.

I disagree.

All four are up and coming talents.

All four have taken doormat programs with underwhelming talent and turned in winning seasons. CJ is the only one who hasn't multiple times, but he's only completed two seasons.

All four are good recruiters.

And, all four could be had. Cheap. And it fits UM's MO on hiring these types of guys.

I think i'm higher on James Franklin than most, but i'd find it funny if Penn State passed on him to hire Golden, then we hired him and he proved to be the better coach.

Franklin = Golden. Both great talkers that seemingly did a lot but it's mostly empty stats. Franklin feasted on four sub 500 teams, and three cream pruffs on top. 7 of their 8 wins were versus sub 500 teams or lower division schools. Their 8th win was against the infirmary known as 2013 UGA. Both top ten teams they played dropped FIFTY on them.

He was an OC for a failed coach, didn't coach under any great coach as. Coordinator, and gets destroyed by every good team he plays. It's basically Al Golden but more expensive. he wasn't good enough for USC, PSU, and Texas, despite his name being out there for every job. Sounds like a good agent and a coach who can market himself as something better than he is.

Let's be realistic, the Malzahn's, Strong's, and such ain't coming here.

Butch Davis is 62, he's no longer a young man and according to some here, napalmed some relationships.

Petrino would intrigue me, but his baggage concerns me to the point that I wonder if he would really be considered by DS & BJ?

What is so exciting about James Franklin?

You think he is gonna want to get down and dirty recruiting in Dade County.
 
My sights are set on Curtis Johnson.

NFL experience with Saints..

HC experience.

Championship ringz....Butch used to wear his rings on recruiting trips and it was the deal sealer. Golden has a pinky ring.

Huge contacts in New Orleans area (top 5 hotbed for recruits)

Good communicator and was considered great recruiter here.

He's the only reason why Dabo Swinney still has a job. He would be bring excitement to UM football with his offense, who wouldn't want to play in that offense. All we would need is an aggressive D Coach to go with that Offense. He fits our budget!!! As soon as AL leaves I would have Chad Morris here the next day.
 
List should be Butch Davis and thats it. He brings us back. Coaches 5 years and rides off into the sunset. Can't afford to miss on some young up and comer and we don't have the cash to lure some big name guy here. Butch is the perfect answer at the perfect time. He is a big name that can hold this class together with the right assistants retained. ***** all this the admin won't hire him because of something over 10 years ago.

More concerning to Donna, will be the rape by the four Vandy players on campus. Apparently, it's alleged that he told a player to delete the video,which was evidence. This case is yet to go to trial
 
Dont think he'd come... I believe he's getting paid more than Al now as an assistant. He's like the highest paid OC in the NCAA.
