It's time.

I think it’s interesting that most of us agreed that manny wasn’t the guy but now we compare Mario and manny all the time as if we made some grave mistake. I think Mario raises our recruiting profile but idk what kind of coach takes us the rest of the way honestly

I’ll say one thing on this.

When he gets canned; the NIL collective dries up.

Simple as that.
Because the really heavy donors are the same ones that pulled him away from Oregon. They’re also lifelong connections and friends.
That was 4 years ago so time to find some new donors. Hire the RIGHT coach and no-one will remember Mario’s name.

That doesn't mean we don't play in a dogs hit conference. We do.
that we cannot win. There's too many better coaches and more good players distributed throughout the conference. The QBs in this conference are a good example. You want to take this team elsewhere to be at the bottom?

I'm sure realignment will happen eventually. We'll see how good or bad that is.

Yep, it’s clear he has raised the floor of the program but that also might be the ceiling unless he does some real soul searching.
He needs to just let go of his offensive vision. That alone, along with bringing in a modern thinking coordinator on offense, will make a huge difference. Dawson isn't it. IDC what anyone says. I've never been a big fan.

Fixing an entire defense isn’t easy but he did it in one offseason (except for LBs of course). We just needed above average QB play (didn’t need elite) to be a playoff team, even with us being so heavily penalized. NFL GMs constantly get it wrong and it sets the team back a decade. We are lucky this can be fixed in one offseason.

Said time and again- a dual threat QB is a cheat code in college. Cristobal needs to learn this.
IDC if Beck could run you aren't winning anything with the run scheme

Better players. Missed playoffs last year because no talent on D. Now we have a defense and got a 4 million dollar bust at QB.
Dawson could help out his QB. This game wasn't solely lost on one interception. The entire offensive philosophy and how it's coached stinks. Players recruited for certain abilities are sitting on the bench because they now "don't fit" or they are asked to do things that aren't their strengths.

On another note, I'm really tired of hearing how great the TE coach is supposed to be as a recruiter. That TE room is the worst it's been in years.

Losing Beck, our center and Bauman are big additions by subtraction. Got a new #1 tackle to replace Cici. So challenge will be replacing Bell and Cooper.

Wes and Toure are unremarkable LBs. Dont think our DTs are anything special either. The DBs and DEs will be tough to replace.
Bell stinks. He has more penalties than any other OLineman. That offsets anything else he does.

The number seems high if we are basing it on the reported 10 year 80 million contract. He would have 48 million remaining.

There are probably other things involved in buying him out but was just wondering.
i'd imagine he got that from a 247 article back in Jan.

7. Mario Cristobal, Miami

Estimated buyout ahead of 2025 season: $61 million

The contract for Mario Cristobal is not public record since Miami is a private institution, but he reportedly made $22.7 million during his first season in 2022, which is the largest, single-year amount ever for the Hurricanes. Only $7.7 million of that was base pay, with a larger portion being returned to Cristobal as part of the $9 million paid to Oregon for his buyout. Cristobal's on a 10-year, $80 million deal at the ACC program.
