It's Refreshing To Hear

No excuses Joe, but that's two weeks in a row of having to play at 6pm. Everyone is talking about our schedule and how tough it's been with the start times.

ahhh that dreaded night game....how do we manage such a huge obstacle?

If we're going to suck (and we suck right now) then we better suck while being accountable for how much we suck.

dont mention the past.. please

yes Richt is a better coach..

but Saturday he struggled too

He still won by 28 points and quickly understood what adjustments to make while his QB struggled!

something we had taken for granted and not seen much of in the past with Coley. But this is correct. As soon as he saw Kaaya struggling with his intermediate and long passes, he settled him down calling for quick wr. screens. He did this repeatedly on one series for some good gains. It was clear FAU was going to take the big play away from us. He was able to get Kaaya back in rhythm in the 2nd half.

I'm gonna have to disagree there. Fau wasn't stopping us from making the big plays at all. On a regular basis Coley or Richard's would be wide open down field. Regardless of the cushions being gave we were getting open. Kaaya was just in a funk & richt didn't wanna force the issue. He literally completed 9 wide reciever screens in the game. He wanted to make a point to kaaya & he did. Point being this team & this staff has his back. He doesn't need to be all world but he needs to do his part. He was throwing a lame duck all game.

CMR repeated the same play more than a few times on drives, but once he found something that worked he just went with it. FAU never adjusted to the quick screen and run/screen option game and CMR just wore it out. That is good coaching. Coley would've called it once, saw it work, then would've never went back to it.

So no mention of long walks to the stadium, fear of vampires at night games, wind, players needing to whatever, etc?

Good on Richt. He's been around the game long enough to know it all ends with him. Yes, players can ***** up a game and lose them, but in the end every responsibility is ultimately his.

Exactly

Quarterback can't throw down field let's run the ball and throw bubble screens. That's one **** of an agjustment. My grandma could make that one

They were open but the windows were tight. If Kaaya was on his game he could have completed some of those. However, the underneath was open all night which is why Richt switched up and started calling more wr screens. I suspect App. St. will play it the same way and force Kaaya to be patient.

there was some good discussion by our resident experts here about how Kaaya has a tendency to look high and then low in the passing game. He was not getting the luxury to sit back and do this. There will be times he needs to adjust to what the defense gives him vs. relying on his athletes to out-athlete the defenders regardless of coverage.

My how a lot of you have already forgotten the past 4 years. Enjoy the wins, enjoy having a good coach, enjoy seeing our players do well, enjoy seeing one of the best defenses I've seen in a long time. "Ignorance is a bliss".

The problem wasn't that he didn't verbally take responsibility, it was that he was never able to fix anything he said they needed to fix. He was great with "it starts with me", but he never did anything differently so we kept getting the same result.[/QUOTE]

I believe they call that the definition of insanity.

Oh boy...another clown. Sometimes I wish DMoney would make this a "pay site" to help weed out some of the trolls.

Absolutely on both instances. But if they're gonna play our run than at the very least Njoku & Richard's will be open all day. Depending on the play call his progressions do tend to be backwards from what I've seen. It's sortve more by preference & comfortability than natural reads I think. Cause when he gets real pressure his head goes on a swivel & he tends to throw off his back foot. That's why the ball sails so often. When you throw off your back foot it virtually forces you to short arm the throw.
