Last season was only Miami's third losing record since 1980.

That's unbelievable. Three takeaways:

1. We've been solid for a long time.

2. Despite having great NFL talent, Al Golden immortalized himself with one of the worst seasons for Hurricanes football in modern history.

3. The absolute most startling stat that I discovered after this -- Miami had 5 draft picks selected in the first 3 rounds of this year's NFL draft. Here are the other times that happened, along with the Canes record for that season:

1986: 11-1
1987: 12-0
1989: 11-1
1992: 11-1
2000: 11-1
2001: 12-0
2002: 12-1
2003: 11-2
2005: 9-3
2010: 6-6 (Shannon)
2014: 6-7 (Golden)

He's the worst HC ever at UM. He makes Shannon and Coker look like Belichick and Lombardi.

There WILL be back to back losing seasons for this team. One look at the schedule makes that clear....especially with this abomination of a coaching staff.

YES!!!

I just stumbled upon the greatest (worst?) Golden statistic ever in the updated OP.

Ho-Lee-****.

That's as damning a stat against that skin fold that I've seen. It speaks as clearly as possible to his unparalleled ability to waste talent.

LMFAO

I am still unable to reconcile how the **** the head coach at the University of Miami can lose S E V E N games in his F O U R T H full year and be allowed to continue to coach.

Worst coach in the history of the program......the longer he stays the more competent Randy Shannon looks which is really beyond ****ed up.

This is the craziest stat I've ever seen. Can anything say "I have no idea how to manage or win with elite talent" any better than this?

Golden will always be a fat hayseed from a factory town. This backwards jamoke thrives on pudgy coal shovelers. He has no idea what the **** is going on with all these athletes on the field. He saw AQM run a 4.5 and immediately held a prayer group. He still won't even go around Chad without his garlic necklace.

Golden is so out of his element.

I still can't believe he had a losing record with that talent. It's mind blowing.
5 picks in the first three rounds and we lost 7 games with some of the following teams that we played

FAU
Arkansas St
Cincy
UNC
UVA
VT (a terrible VT team)
South Carolina (they were terrible last season)
Pitt
Duke

Golden manage to regress at Temple and still convinced Miami to hire him

2009: 9-4 overall, 7-1 in Mac
2010: 8-4 overall, 5-3 in Mac

Dude is 0-3 in bowls and has a 55-56 overall record.

Lol. Sorry. We're so ***ked. Smdh. Just shows how delusional some are with hoping this and iffing that to 10 wins.
