Butch would take the job today. He is not afraid. Last time he was here he had REAL cloud and massive scholarship losses. Now he has a real QB that had noles beat two years in a role. You really think Butch would have lost last night if BOT had hired him after Cincy? Our defense is slow but Butch will put them up field forcing the issue. You think Butch doesn't know how to defend VT?

If not, you may want to check our offensive rankings.

Or, just check our points scored in the last 2 games.

We have no turnovers, and only scored 24 against FSU. And we actually scored FEWER points against UC (Cincinnati)

We definitely have issues offense.

Went there for grad school. They haven't had a really good team since the ''50's. However with the move to a better conference, they probably feel lots of pressure to be competitive in football. Entirely different from us when we moved to the ACC. Knowing we'd share in the conference revenue, we just basically de-emphasized the sport with cheap, lousy coaching hires. You can be the ACC knows they were had by the Troll!

You do realize Butch runs an entirely different defensive scheme than Dorito? This is not Madden, where you switch from a 3-4 to 4-3 and its seamless.

Firing Golden only means that there will be another job open this winter and not we mean business or anything like that.

What will tell if mean business is who we hire and if they can hire good coaches and we don't have to go the cheap route.
 
Some of these HOF’er canes complaining about coaching. How about they put up some cash to pay this *** clowns buyout

Never player Madden, but I understand your point. On the base point, I think Butch will take the job immediately. Of course Butch runs a completley different scheme -- that is a huge reason we want him. Will the defense look like Ed Reed is back there, **** no. But it will spend more time on offense's side of LOS and players will be closer to opponents intsead of 10 yards off. Will they give up big plays? Yes, Al hates speed. A couple weeks of Butch practice and kids will be leaner and quicker. Butch will take the job.

Wrong.

The earlier you fire the coach the better . You get a jump on starting the search, which gives you a jump on the other schools who'll be firing coaches.

Slight correction....they had some pretty good teams during the early 1980s under Bobby Ross.
They are currently pretty strong in most sports.
Even baseball which used to be a dumpster fire.
Football program is lagging and attendance has been horrible.
So they need to fix this.
I'm guessing they will go after Schiano.
