Even if we did they still want the position to be a versatile more in-the-box player

Manny’s philosophy is front 7 that can run and back end that can tackle.

It was true until last year when we didn’t have Johnson and Redwine and now we’ve plugged in Jennings and McCloud and taken away the tackling safeties. We’re not doing much to live up to his philosophical beliefs

But all along I’ve heard Manny meets with Blake James Monday the 4th (today). So staff changes would follow and we’re still on schedule. Multiple outlets have confirmed but USU hasn’t announced anything.

And keep in mind that we’re not firing Stroud - he would retire and that’s on him when he’s ready - but at the same time he’s not doing it until we’ve vetted candidates and feel confident we can have a good replacement and that takes time.

and still never heard anything solid on Rumph. But in all honesty how the **** would that guy remain on staff AGAIN would be beyond me. It would surpass D’Onofrio and Paul Williams level of “why the **** is he still here?” in my honest opinion.

Let it play out. I’ve been saying like others I don’t see Baker leaving unless he gets demoted.
I can see Manny hiring a DB coach to take care of S and Cbs
Baker demoted to LB coach and having a Co DC title only
I don’t see where Patke goes

Patke's group didn't perform?

Frierson was our best player on D, and you can give him credit or not but we had the best K/P combo in the nation
