20 years ago nobody could have convinced me that Utah, Baylor, IOwa, Memphis Cincinnati, Appalachian State, Boise State and Navy would all be ranked
while Miami and FSU finished 6-6 and unranked but that is true today.

Two teams from the state of Florida that have been NFL factories in the top 10 in talent can't even finish ranked. The rest of CFB has not only caught up but overtaken us.

The non P-5 teams you mention are 4-2 vs P5 teams.
The average win total of those teams they beat is 5, with none of the teams being over .500.
They are 0-2 vs the Top 25.

Put teams like Appy State, Memphis, Cincy, and Navy in any P5 division and they'll be middle of the road at best at this time.

Before you throw Memphis out there, know that they beat Ole **** by 5, at home, while their high-powered offense scored 13 points.
Ole ****'s biggest wins this year were Vandy and Arkansas. Their only 2 P5 wins.

I still remember that UVA-FSU game where UVA shocked them with the Barber boys and the whole country was in disbelief they lost an actual ACC game. Times have changed.

You cant change what has already happened, and it's reality

Love people who always use the ''put 'x' team in 'x' situation and they would not be where they are now" scenario, but it just lame excuses to be honest

Those are good teams, better than FSU AND MIAMI for instance, not top 10 good, but definitely good. By the way you mentioned Arkansas who has been in the SEC for how long now? Yet they have only won 1 of their last 24 SEC games. Still considered a P5 team though. Ironic?

Brother, we lost to FIU.

Iowa, Memphis, Cincy and Navy would have us for dinner

The Coastal is essentially like a non P5 conference and we have one it once in the last 15 years.

And 20 years before that no one would have believed that the Florida schools would be so good.

And 20 years before that no one would have believed that the service academies wouldn't be top programs.

And 20 years before that no one would have believed that Minnesota wouldn't be at the top of the sport.

Etc.

We had a period of greatness, like lots of schools do. That doesn't entitle us to anything in the future.

Only in an alternate universe does the University of Miami pay $6 million to Temple for a coach with zero experience over $10 million for a former player (champion) who just won the Pac 12..

We're not a good football team. I know that.
When all the non-p5 teams you mention play a p5 schedule, then we can compare.
Until then, it's apples and oranges.

The sad part is we saw the problem and tried to correct it with Mark Richt.

We also beat UVA.
Non of those non p-5 teams beat a p-5 team with a winning record.
Would we lose to all of them? I don't know.
Let them play more than 1 or 2 p-5 teams a year, then we can compare.

Which reinforces how bad of a football team Ole **** is.
Memphis won by 5, at home.

Memphis is a very good team, given the schedule they play.

Arkansauce has a horrific conference record in the $EC, but in the SWC they won 7 outright and 14 total league titles.

You can thank Blake James and Nevin Shapiro for this
