It's early, but the run defense

Is currently 6th in FBS in yards per game, 18th in yards per rush, and 3rd in rushing first downs allowed.

Pass rush leaving a lot to be desired so far on the DL, but the run defense is where you expect it to be.

And it should be even better statistically (though Keona is a target at DT) because our biggest asset is passing the ball downfield and scoring in bunches. And, that makes the other team one dimensional (passing). So, yeah. Lean into what we’re good at doing, no?

We had 3 sacks and drew 3 holding calls on passes tonight. We probably missed a handful of more sacks because Gio Lopez bathes in crude oil (or we didn't tackle well, lol). I thought our pass rush was really good tonight.
CRUDE OIL THOUGH😂😭🤣😩 I NEEDED THIS LAUGH AFTER TONIGHT THANK YOU BROTHER

once we had them in a situation where they had to drop back and pass, the pass rush really got rolling and was getting there quickly just about every play. if the offense hadn't fallen off the cliff to end all cliffs in the second half we would've cruised to like 45-17 and everyone would be feeling peachy. we got got a few times in the secondary but that's to be expected with the injury issues we're working through right now.

the second half offensive collapse is really the big worry to me coming out of this game, because otherwise we've got a good model for complementary football: an offense that can put up points in bunches and a defense that can stop the run early and get after the QB late.
