It's a start... Perry and Weldon get reps with the 1s (today's practice)

Does anyone here believe there has been or will be honest competition for #1. If so maybe you need to invest in some of that beachfront property in Siberia

That's the scary part to me. What if Perry and Weldon are legitimately worse than Rosier. I can't imagine that is possible, but I also can't believe that Richt is that stupid and/or stubborn that he doesn't have a legitimate reason for sticking with Rosier.

I agree with this! Why didn't either of the two beat out Rosier?

It's only going to get worse from here for Malik. Trust me our fans will start booing every bad throw and by the time we play FSU he'll be second guessing his every decision.

Were they actually given a chance to beat him out - or was Richt going with the guy from last year vs. LSU based on experience? We don't know.

Likely Perry got busted over the summer and going into camp it was known he would be suspended for LSU game. Weldon started the Spring in the doghouse and missed half of it with an eye issue. Over the summer Williams did not apply himself and did not do the things necessary to be legitimately considered to start. So there you have it. You guys are overthinking this whole thing. Richt had one legit starter for the LSU game. And that is why he named Rosier the starter so early in fall camp. He also did it to give him an extra boost of confidence. By all accounts this worked in the scrimmages. Rosier was reported to be better then he has ever been. So game time comes and Rosier once again $hits the bed. But what other option did Richt have? Perry screwed up big time getting in trouble over the summer. Had he not he would have been given more first team reps throughout the fall and he possibly would have started the second half of the game. This whole mess is on Richt and his son. But its also on Perry for not getting his act together and being a team player. As for Malik, none of this is one him. There is a reason only Furman and some other 2a school offered him. He should not even be in a Miami uniform but sadly he is. So as Dmoney asks, where do we go from here? LSU is behind us. Let's get this fixed now. Rosier is done here as a QB IMO. One of the knocks on Perry during fall camp was throwing picks against a zone defense. Well guess what, a less talented Rosier who is supposed to be the smartest of the bunch did the same thing against LSU. And that pick 6 was game over. Give me a guy that can make a mistake but has the talent to make up for it. Is that Weldon or Perry? Open this **** competition up in practice and whoever plays best starts.

With those defencies, outside of Vt and FSU, we should be able to out talent everyone else provided we find a qb that can hit wide open WRs. Even if we don’t score at least we’re flipping field position. LSU started near midfield way too much. It seems to me that Richt is stuck in his ways and he should be asking himself who can get the ball into the hands of the WRs the best. It’s not Rosier that’s all I know.

Watching the replay of the game. Malik had at least TEN OPEN receivers Sunday night. But either " over threw, or under threw them, and MISSED them because of the pressure past rush of LSU.

There's already a Hurricane craping on Malik. Enter the various social media outlets. hUh.

The only people that can make an educated opinion of this is the people that have been watching the practices before the season started. I certainly can't, but I like JW's film better than the other two. I think he will be red shirted, there is no way I would have started him against LSU. I do think JW will be our starting QB next year though.

Roll the dice with Perry and see if Miami comes out on the winning end.

Because neither was given a legitimate chance

How many practices did you get to watch? I'm not being a **** I'm just wondering how you came to this conclusion? I don't know either way, R has played freshmen so who wouldn't he play one of the other two?

It must be so frustrating as one of the other qbs to sit in that room and be cucked out like that ... just watching some **** qb take your reps from you
Seems like one place where, “If you see something, you CAN’T say something”, as that can get you grounded. I hope I am wrong.

Ok then this answers a lot of our questions, Perry has been a ***** up so far. Weldon was also in the doghouse and missed half of spring with an eye injury. Williams was just getting his feet wet in his first time away from home. So Rosier shows up every day doing his best. Is it good enough for Miami? Not even close but that's who we have. I'd definitely give the two red shirts their chance this week. We should do just fine this year with the talent we have until JW starts next year.

I figured that out already. He is a practice HERO! He is great at reading our D. Our scout D makes it much easier to read the calls. So in practice he is able to make all the reads, throw quick to the right checkdowns, but when the REAL lights come on he craps himself. The young guys are basically still at that place, this is close enough to real so they don't know all the answers yet. So they still make the easier mistakes. My only thing is I'd rather take N'Kosis mistakes and his plus level arm and athletic ability over Malick "tuck it in my left arm and run after the first read" Rosier. I just think even the players are ready for someone else. They don't want to start a war over it because they want to play. But I think this has the potential to get ugly.

Like I am starting to feel he's out of his league. He had some passive aggressive coach speak today about angry fans and how we simply don't understand all the things that go into successful qb play that have nothing to do with the QB. He obviously has control issues look at the coaching organization on the offense and the duties assistants actually have come game day. Starting to feel like he is just comitting to 12 to show us we aren't going to tell him how to run his program. If he thinks the fans are loud now keep rolling twelve out there and finish 8 and 5. That seat will be scorching hot in Orlando next year.

You’ve basically described every head NFL, college and high school coach in America.

Thought he was in the doghouse because of school?
