It starts with the right coach

Richt was not a leader.

If we knew that leadership was an essential ingredient to success, and particularly to program building, we wouldn’t have hired him.

Sadly, we didn’t know that, because we aren’t good at hiring decisions. It is transparently obvious that he was hired under the theory that any old boob could win at UM if he just kept out of his own way, and Richt was our old boob, in any case, and good looking and Jesus talking too.

Blake James is not a leader. You are who you hire.

If that was full effort against CMU then we’re in deep poo. We followed that steaming **** with what Diaz characterized as a terrible practice. This isn’t making me feel warm and fuzzy about buy in.
I like Matt Campbell. He hasn't been perfect, but he's beaten OU, TCU, and WVU when all three were ranked in the Top 6.

A program like Iowa State has a ceiling they are unlikely to ever surpass unless they are fortunate to luck into a generational-like talent at QB. Not unlike Andrew Luck at Stanford.

He's young (late 30s, early 40s), and may have greater aspirations than Ames, Iowa. Maybe the NFL? JJ once said he accepted the Miami job when a confidant convinced him it was the best shot he had at an NFL job. I am not opposed to a mercenary coach using Miami as a stepping stone.
Not opposed? I think that is what we should aspire to. All other hopes have led us astray. If we found another JJ and he decided to stay, fine. But for hiring purposes, we shouldn’t care.

The main reason why I don’t believe in Manny is the hiring of Patke and the retention of Panda.

For the most part all great HC’s view Special Teams just as important as the offense or defense. Now Manny hired Patke to coach up the worst Special Teams in the history of UM. Patke has less than zero experience as a P5 coach and he’s failure showing up every Saturday on kickoffs, field goals and PATs. Explain how you become a Co-defensive coordinator, LB coach and a Speacial Team coach??????

This is nothing more than a friendship hire

Panda being twitter’s top front-runner is nothing more than a whippin’ dog on the recruiting trail which has lead to Knowles getting so much burn

Ding ding ding. We're going to see a rinse and repeat of the last two regimes. At least Randy was willing to fire coaches for not producing. He just didn't do anything right as a coach. Manny had the opportunity to upgrade the staff, and chose not to.

Josh Heupel

He took over an undefeated team and just laid an egg at Pitt two weeks ago. Add in his predecessor is getting his **** pushed in in a real division. Yes, UCF is talented in all but they are able to build confidence over a season of lower tier competition and any game against a power 5 is a super bowl for them. Good for their success but gimme a break. Josh Heupel also looks like a tub of goo.

Miami has lost to Pitt also, and we still haven't played them yet, so we'll see.

Who gives a **** what he looks like, he's married so you can't date him.

Who's the leader in the locker room? Where's our Al Blades at that we miss so much. Where are the players that hold other players accountable? It should be the seniors like Pinckney and Shaq. Navaughn Donaldson is a monster of a man and should command respect from every player on the offensive side of the ball. Ain't nobody in that locker room earning respect from each other. This team is full of individuals whereas our teams that were great were team players and held each other accountable. I'm not in that locker room, but I bet Shaq and Pink were better espected when they were freshmen. It will be a shame if they came back for their senior year and went 7-5 or 6-6. We've already been beat by one basketball school, will there be another one? Time to look in the ******* mirror and man up.

one of the most on point threads Ive seen anywhere.

i have been saying for years we need another howard. a UM equivalent to Pete Carroll.

hiring some mediocre DC from a failed regime who was on his way to Temple is the furthest thing from the right move you could possibly imagine.

His hires were pathetic. Our staff is more amateur than my favorite **** genre.
First, are GILFs really amateurs?

Second, I really get the impression that he hopes to find the overlooked genius or the plucky up-and-comer instead of a tried and true veteran. The one mistake on my part was thinking Enos was a proven commodity.

Just wait until Diaz fires a coach or two this offseason and all the slurpers will **** themselves calling him a savage.

Randy replaced coaches every year. And he still sucked and was twice the DC and recruiter Manny ever was.
