It really doesn't set up any better for Mario this weekend

I stated a few weeks ago after the Louisville loss that Stanford was not a “get right” game either. Stanford was awful and that game would tell us nothing. The SMU game would tell us everything we needed to know. Unfortunately, we found out we aren’t a playoff caliber team.

Syracuse is awful. We will probably come out flat and unmotivated as usual, but should end up winning fairly easy. The remaining games after Syracuse will all be a dog fight and we could lose all 3. Thats just our DNA with a Mario led team. Any average or above average team will give us fits. We just can’t find a way to handle them like a good team should.

we have a playoff level roster. we have a below average coaching staff.

agreed. the defense has been the only reason we even pulled out some of these games or stayed in games. Lville would have been the humbling this overall staff needed had it not been for the defense to keep us within striking distance.

Yup, a lot of posters expressed concern over the results of that Stanford game. Me being one of them. And these posters were met with harsh criticism.

I expect a similar game to Stanford, probably a better start. Slow, pounding game, defense will lock down, offense will feel uncoordinated but we cover.

The result of this game will tell me nothing.

NOW, if our philosophy and scheme, spacing and tempo all look different? Thats what I can take away as a positive.

The opposition to Mandy getting fired was fierce, many on CIS saying he would never get fired because of his dad being the mayor. But the combination of the air and land attack proved to be too much, and he was fired.

Never underestimate the psychological affect of the banner.

Unfortunately, some porsters thought their donations were going to the banner, but in reality they were funding some dudes trip to the Dominican Republic.

I wouldn’t ever bump this if everything you stated above didn’t come to fruition.

I actually somewhat agree with you. I can see us being a little more creative this week and changing a few things here and there. I have no doubts we are going to beat Syracuse.

It’s our remaining opponents after Syracuse that worry me. I can see us in a tight battle with all of them. Will play ultra conservative in most cases, even if we have opportunities to take advantage of them in specific down and distance situations.
