It can’t be this easy.

Still plenty of decent to pretty good teams left for us to beat but it couldn’t possibly have opened a path up any better for an ACCCG run after 1 week

VT will still be tricky, louisville shaping up to be the top test on the year
If you can stop the VT run game (which we can) and force Drones to beat you with his arm, VT isnt very scary. Drones is limited as a passer.

Combine that with it being a Friday night game with the whole nation watching, with the hype train in full effect after a few cupcakes and big statistical games from Ward, and we should expect max effort from our guys.

VT is gonna get steamrolled just like the Gators did.

There is one other “easy button” that is getting overlooked- UM no longer getting screwed by ACC referees. From ACC perspective, UM may be the only ACC team that makes the playoffs. Both Clemson and FSU burned a lot of bridges, while our AD has been trying to save the ACC. The conference has to have one flagship team. I think the ACC refs know the situation as well.
Don’t forget UNC which use to be the ACC biggest darling is also in that group

FSU hasn't recovered from Georgia yanking the heart out of their chest at the OB.
I think their issue starts one step back: they haven’t gotten over not getting into the playoff.

Everyone on that campus, in that admin, and on that staff bleated like wounded sheep when they got passed over, for weeks and months. They dismissed one of the worst bowl beat downs in CFB history and lied to themselves that it was baked into the cake of injustice the committee served them.

You suck on that mindset for a few weeks, let alone months, and you will ruin yourself for a year. That whole program looks like they didn’t put in the work all offseason, because their efforts didn’t matter. Effort, preparation, even their talent acquisition choices, all indicate they forfeited the offseason.

Has there ever been a better week 1 in Miami history?

1. Miami destroys Florida in the Swamp and look to have the three most important pieces to a championship contender: QB, Offensive Line, Defensive Line

2. FSU loses not once, but twice. But not just that, both of them were ACC games against unranked teams

3. Clemson and Virginia Tech lose

Not possible - just on Nos. 1 and 2 alone.

We're trending up while our two rivals are in the toilet

That ... and a lousy roster for a program touted as the ACC favorite less than two weeks ago

Where are the difference-makers?

Spending their limited resources on a quarteback like DJU, who hadn't progressed in his first three collegiate seasons and now is saddled with a chronic case of the yips.

Receivers and backs are pedestrian. The OL sucks. The DL got pushed around by a BC line likely filled with middling 3 stars. The LB's are total non-factors. The secondary? Who knows, since GA Tech and BC were able to gash the front seven pretty much with ease.

I'll leave it to the experts here to evaluate FSU's staff from top to bottom, but my guess is that on the whole it's not very good.

The Noles are clearly in panic mode judging by Norvell's desperate and failed try on fourth-and-5 from the Florida State 47 early in the third quarter in a one-score game

One of the four out of SMU, Louisville , NC State & GTech are probably going to be our competition for ACC Championship game
