Why would he come here? FSU will also be looking for a QB as will many other programs. What has this staff shown that would attract a top transfer QB? People have been harping on the fact that we couldn't be creative Saturday because Emory Williams is a true freshman and was making his second start of his career and first start on the road vs our arch rival who was undefeated and ranked #4 in the nation. Still, there were many things we could have done that would have been very easy even for an inexperienced Emory Williams to execute.
Everyone do yourselves a favor and watch the Student of the Game series by Roman Marciante. Particularly the latest episode breaking down the FSU/Miami game. Roman does a great job of keeping things simple and easy to understand. Roman highlights a few things in this video that Cristobal/Dawson could have/should have done that would have been very easy for Emory to execute. You could tell that Roman was baffled by the staff's inability or just flat out unwillingness to do any of these things.
The greatest QB’s in the history of football would struggle having to play Wario ball. The only dudes that would maybe have a shot at making it work would be maybe a Russell Wilson or Jalen Hurts. Guys that are magicians and can improvise/make something out of nothing on a regular basis. But even they would not put up good numbers.
Just look at Russell Wilson last season compared to this season. He had Paul Hackett as his OC, and he looked terrible, like he was washed up. In comes Sean Payton as the new Sheriff in town, and Russell is back to playing QB at a high level.
TVD will leave here and play for someone else. If put in the right offense, he will light the scoreboard up. Then will we finally hear all of his critics admit that they were wrong, and that Wario is a QB killer? Somehow I don’t believe so.
TVD looked like *** the 2nd half of this season. Emory looked like *** too. He had at least 2 passes that should have been pick 6’s if the Holes don’t drop the ball. His completion percentage in both of his starts has been brutal.
Jacurri also looked pretty awful throwing the ball last season when he had to play. So that means that all of our QB’s forgot how to play the QB position and all suck.
Just look at the Gayta QB this season. He transferred from a team that runs a slow, plodding offense, and has looked like night and day from his previous seasons, and that’s under Billy Bob Napier, who isn’t exactly an offensive football genius.
My verdict is in, and Wario has been found guilty of QB malpractice and the murder of the Canes offense. His sentence should be ex-communication from the Hecht and ever corching at the U again, but unfortunately, we both know that isn’t going to happen.
