It’s TVD, Not Dawson or Mario

I think in simplest terms for people here maybe to see the light is the following and you tell me if I am off here:

Guidry - Look at how he changes the game plan on defense based on the opponent. Against Clemson, he rolled out a 3-3-5 look. From game to game he’s changing the way the defense plays. Puts his players in situations to take advantage of their skill sets.

Dawson - Can you say, that like Guidry, he is making the same adjustments and changes in strategies with his personnel?
Regardless of who you think the problem is..nobody should argue with this. Dawson clearly makes zero adjustments whether it’s week to week, in-game or coming out of halftime. I don’t know what they talk about in the locker room for 30min at halftime because they clearly don’t talk schematic adjustments.

Why would he come here? FSU will also be looking for a QB as will many other programs. What has this staff shown that would attract a top transfer QB? People have been harping on the fact that we couldn't be creative Saturday because Emory Williams is a true freshman and was making his second start of his career and first start on the road vs our arch rival who was undefeated and ranked #4 in the nation. Still, there were many things we could have done that would have been very easy even for an inexperienced Emory Williams to execute.

Everyone do yourselves a favor and watch the Student of the Game series by Roman Marciante. Particularly the latest episode breaking down the FSU/Miami game. Roman does a great job of keeping things simple and easy to understand. Roman highlights a few things in this video that Cristobal/Dawson could have/should have done that would have been very easy for Emory to execute. You could tell that Roman was baffled by the staff's inability or just flat out unwillingness to do any of these things.

The greatest QB’s in the history of football would struggle having to play Wario ball. The only dudes that would maybe have a shot at making it work would be maybe a Russell Wilson or Jalen Hurts. Guys that are magicians and can improvise/make something out of nothing on a regular basis. But even they would not put up good numbers.

Just look at Russell Wilson last season compared to this season. He had Paul Hackett as his OC, and he looked terrible, like he was washed up. In comes Sean Payton as the new Sheriff in town, and Russell is back to playing QB at a high level.

TVD will leave here and play for someone else. If put in the right offense, he will light the scoreboard up. Then will we finally hear all of his critics admit that they were wrong, and that Wario is a QB killer? Somehow I don’t believe so.

TVD looked like *** the 2nd half of this season. Emory looked like *** too. He had at least 2 passes that should have been pick 6’s if the Holes don’t drop the ball. His completion percentage in both of his starts has been brutal.

Jacurri also looked pretty awful throwing the ball last season when he had to play. So that means that all of our QB’s forgot how to play the QB position and all suck.

Just look at the Gayta QB this season. He transferred from a team that runs a slow, plodding offense, and has looked like night and day from his previous seasons, and that’s under Billy Bob Napier, who isn’t exactly an offensive football genius.

My verdict is in, and Wario has been found guilty of QB malpractice and the murder of the Canes offense. His sentence should be ex-communication from the Hecht and ever corching at the U again, but unfortunately, we both know that isn’t going to happen.

TVD is a huge liability for sure.
However, my concern is with the lack of creativity and adjustment by the staff.
We don’t even try to do anything different.
What they are doing is obviously not working, you might as well start thinking out side the box.
But Dawson and Mario seem to be unable to do that. That concerns me.
This right here.

TVD is an awful QB and has always been awful but the coaches are not helping him in anyway and are only making it worse.

Very concerning for any QB that happens to play here.

Yes, spot on!

Miami is tied for 55th in the country in points per game in the 3rd quarter at 6.2 PPG.

Vs Power 5 teams, we average 4.9 points in 7 games in the 3rd quarter.

Our P5 opponents in those 7 games are scoring 10.6 PPG.

Keep believing that if it gets you through the offseason.

And to clarify, TVD is A problem. He's not THE problem. Any QB is going to struggle in this system.
I don’t see how this season TVD isn’t the problem 😂 I think Dawson has been average but TVD mentally short circuited and because of incompetent roster management and a brutal injury we have to put him back in but he lost us multiple games this season. Mario lost us 1 - GT is on him. TVDs 12 TOS in 4 games crippled this team.

You can argue til you are blue in the face who is responsible. I will just state that it's funny Mario bragged about having the greatest QB room in college a year ago. Now we are a month away from potentially having all 3 QBs transfer out. If that isn't irony idk what is.

Would love to see Citizen in the back field this week he can absolutely house a run kids got it all

........Guidry is like a chemist or the stereotypical mad scientist in his lab(sideline) mixing and matching different potions(using elements of different schemes) in order to come up with the best recipe for conquering today's challenge which is different from yesterday's. Dawson on the other hand is like a doctor who gives the same prescription to every patient no matter the illness.....
Of course that doctor could work for CristoMed Health and have very little choice in what he prescribes.

Exactly! I was under the impression that this staff was very involved with self scouting because during the bye, that's all they would talk about. Self scouting this. Self scouting that. Blah blah blah blah self scouting, analyse our own tendencies blah blah blah.

I'll put it this way..... If this staff does any self scouting whatsoever, they are sending the information to our opponents. Not that opposing defensive coordinators need any help figuring out what we are going to do on offense. I have not seen any type of effort by our staff to change our tendencies or to set up our opponents by playing off our tendencies. There is no valid excuse for that no matter who the QB is or what his skill level might be. This is coaching malpractice and flat out incompetence. 8 million? For this half a$$ed garbage? There must be a clause in the contract that allows the contract to be voided in the case of willful negligence! It's literally mind-blowing!
Agreed but disagree with the bolded. It's very much full assed. extremely deliberate, and fyzical! Tuff too!

There is a guy in my town who is a distant cousin of a family that makes really good barbecue. He walks around and claims he knows the family recipe but his barbecue isn't anywhere near as good as his family's and that my friends pretty much sums up Shannon Dawson. Looking like Mario struck out again

With Lashlee, every potential receiver is out for a pass. With Dawson 3 receivers. If our OL is so darn good, why do they need a TE and RB helping? I'd bet that our OL has more confidence in themselves then Dawson or Mario. TVD has so much time he gets nervous trying to find one of his 3 receivers open, so then he forces it in for an int. Ironic that last year our leading receiver was TE Will Mallory, this year a total of 12 receptions by the TE room, go figure!

There’s no great OC without a great QB. TVD is the problem, not Dawson or Mario. You can’t call plays if your QB can’t competently execute. There is no confidence in TVD right now and this has affected the offensive game plan. The Dawson that we saw in the first 4 games did not suddenly forget how to coordinate a modern offense. Mario did not suddenly dislike the winning offense of the first 4 games in preference for the present.

I am tired of all this hire new HC or coordinator talk every year. Some of you guys here just like that. News flash - Mario and Dawson will be firmly here next season. The team has clearly improved in all areas and Stevie Wonder can see it. We are a QB away from being an elite offense. We are already an elite defense.

Seven wins or eight and a bowl game was projected by many before the season. We are on track. We, as fans, got greedy and ahead of ourselves after the first 4 games…especially after TA&M. Patience.
Kudos… the only thing you left out is that our northern QB is actually Punxsutawney Phil and we’re all waiting for him to crawl out of his hole.
Other than that just keep it up.

All 3? Emory going to transfer as well? Haven't heard anything about Emory being unhappy but then again, who could be happy as a QB in this abysmal system? QBs must be looking at our offense and laughing. We're a joke!
