This has been a work in progress for about 12 years now. These are slow growing English Boxwoods. Almost lost them about 8 years ago to an early spring hard frost
DO ITYou need to get a hedge trimmer in ther and make it a split U.
Then paint the left half.
When I started this, I looked around a for shrub that at least had some orange in it. There's another boxwood called a Golden that looks mostly yellow. I didn't want anything with the name "Golden" in it! So I settled with the all green. I will eventually cut a split in it. That’s a great idea! We put flags out on game days so putting an orange cloth on it would fit right in.You don't need to paint it.
Cut out the middle strip, and on game days, get some orange cloth or something and drape the one side.
