I believe there are a lot of Cane fans here. There are a few Trolls. I think many of the posters here can contribute a lot to awesome Cane discussion. Unfortunately, the Cane fans collectively seem to all have the 1-2 fixes to the problem(s) here. Here are the problems as i see it. I think the order of importance will differ from fan to fan. Im sure I will miss a few issues! Feel free to add!

It all started when Butch bolted for the Browns . . .

Larry, a decent OC was out of his depth as a HC. He recruited well on paper. Those recruits didn't live up to their hype. Player development slowed.
UM hired the next HC from the failed previous regime.
Randy didn't recruit very well.
Randy didn't develop very well.
Randy came across as inflexible.
I think the strength and conditioning deficiencies became a lot more apparent under Randy. There was always the debate over the SC program. Player development also started to slow down.
Miami hired Al, an up and coming HC that turned a horrendous Temple program into an okay program. It was a big jump for them. The thought was, what would he do with Miami caliber athletes?!!
He imo did recruit better than Randy.
SC program was de down the *******.
Player development, maybe there were some players that got better, but for the life of me, I don't think we had many get better. This is one of the reasons we see undrafted Canes in the league, or under drafted Canes.
Recruiting misses, the key kids we missed on, in addition to taking some of the wrong kids really did the U in.
Enter CMR . . .

Our most glaring issue is the OL. 15-17 of the 70 man roster are OL. In terms of D1 OL, I do think we have about 8 legit D1 kids. The problem is, imo, that we have 1 center and 6 guards and 1 OT, who happens to be injury prone. It is such a cluster ****. We can sign 25 kids plus the number needed to get to 85, if they are EEs. So if we are at 70, lose 15, we can sign 25 that start in the summer plus 5 EEs. That is 70-15=55 +25=80 + 5 EEs . . . I think we are at 72, but I do expect some attrition. Anyways we will be average at best with the ****** OL.

I do want to say that our SC program seems to be a **** of a lot better!

The DBs are in bad shape as well.

CMR is going to have to bring some quality frosh, JUCOs, PREPers, and grad transfers in to fix the OL and DB spots.

Okay so play calling has been bad.
BK has been bad. I really do go back and forth with whether I want him to return next year. I think he will. If the OL is terrible next year, then I hope he goes. We will need a mobile QB if we want to win.
Our D could give up 50 points a game the rest of the year, and I would be pleased with what Diaz has done over the first 7 games, more or less. We need depth.

Unless you all are in the meetings and practices, I don't think you can say with certainty that coaches should go. Personally, I hope they all return next year. I think continuity will do the program some good.

How would Kenny Dorsey look on this team?

Lots of problems. Lots of reasons. I reject it is all Richt's fault. I reject Richt has no blame here.

Good post.

The last 15 years of this program are so ******* depressing.

Clueless Coker to Radio Randy to Al the Abortion to Mark Richt. What did we do to deserve this?

Wait a minute, you think all coaches should return?

Meaning you don't think Richt should bring in an OC?

I think the play calling has been bad. I think if CMR wants to continue calling plays, and let that be the battle he fights that is on him. I do not think that play calling "unto itself" deserves its own coach. The only way I can see bringing in an OC is if CMR is going to get rid of a coach, presumably the QB coach. I know we are all entitled to our opinions. I just don't think we have to have a new OC if CMR is calling plays.

Now maybe he will say after the season that he bit off more than he could chew. And it sure looks that way.

I think I am trying to communicate that JR is not the problem. We aren't 7-0 with a better qb coach. We may be 5-2 with better play calling. If everything went our way 6-1 with better play calling.
