This , he wasn’t ready.

Yah but its a free year that doesn't count eligibility-wise so I would have liked to see him get his feet wet in mop up once to twice. Or just to feel more engaged. Or even be there if god forbid we get smacked with injuries... we're already without the 2 that opted out... hopefully he gets cleared still.

We can find a couple chairs to put in to replace those two , with better results. That is if we need to play them.

11-minute mark, Diaz says they are waiting for a "medical clearance" in addition to the eligibility waiver. hope it's procedural and not significant.

If I remember correctly, the gators lost two players to the portal and neither of them was granted a waiver. Anybody else think it's gaytor sour grapes?

Here's an interesting question.

If you don't get a waiver...but the year doesn't count towards eligibility...he will still have 5 years to play 4, correct? He just loses 2020 as one of those years, I believe.
There is no doubt in my mind that Walker is on a 3 year plan in his mind. If he Balls out in year 3 and starts and manhandles all DE's then have at it. We will need it. But I think he leaves even if he is 3rd string.

Not trying to blow up the kid's spot, but does anyone have info on whether whatever this is represents a long-term concern?

Kid is the king of the cryptic tweet. Lots of what he puts out publically seems to indicate possible mental health issues. I could be totally wrong but I think this is a case of a kid who really just needs a ton of support and structure in his life.

Hope this kid gets to a better place, whatever that represents, and maybe then he can contribute as he is a pretty talented kid.
Gotta get himself right first, can't have OL going AWOL mid-season.

Sucks, he was such a stud at Norland. I know he lost a ton of weight when he came to Miami and just seems to be in his own head. He's still young but another year of not contributing isn't looking good for him ever being a player here.

Yes...just like the Palmetto AD who kept Brashard Smith and Leonard Taylor from EE.

Seems very gerald willis esque

Disagree. Willis was very much a hot head and very much had off-field troubling incidents. Lake said Walker is not in trouble. @Ecush put it nicely. He has a bunch of cryptic tweets, at one point I think he was retweeting stuff from like a pro suicide twitter account, and his body has physically changed. We can't begin to speculate as to what might be going on or diagnose any prospective mental issues.

Most OL take a year or two to develop properly regardless. he got a free COVID year, hoping he gets whatever he needs and can contribute next year.

Ya that was some funny shxx.
Wouldn’t have been as funny if they would have found a way to ***** us over just one more time, that game. I just knew they were trying to find something.

Walker is a good kid with issues that need to be kept private. I’ve said this all the way back we he transferred in. When I said he “needed time” it meant more than just physically.

Btw it’s sad it took to his Sr year for the staff to realize Scaife is not a guard , he’s always been a tackle.

Scaife has had three different OL coaches. Don't think the overarching "the staff" term fits right now. Too much turnover.
