"Won't end up at ND, but Miami botched this one"

Thats the kind of **** I dont like to hear at this point in recruiting. Smh. I use to think Al was like Butch but im starting to think maybe he isnt at that level yet. Butch wouldnt have botched on a sure thing SoFla kid TWO years in a row. (Skai Moore last year) I would say Butchs only two big SoFla " eval misses" in his entire tenure of recruiting at UM was Elvis Dumervil and Antonio Bryant.

I dont know what the **** is going on with Al right now. But he is really dropping the ball.

It's been a long time ago now but if I remember right Butch didn't have any interest in Roscoe Parrish. Coker ended up getting him after Butch left. Coaches get to hung up on a guys size sometimes.

Wasn't Frank Gore also in the same spot? I don't remember the circumstances, but I recall he wasn't coming under Butch and things changed when Coker took the job.

None of that really is relevant to today's decisions, which can and should stand or fall on their own merit.

Won't end up at ND, but Miami botched this one.

So are you saying if UM offerd now Mckenzie wouldn't be interested? Even though it would allow him to stay close to his grandmother who raised and keep an eye on his brother.

Based on that article I would think UM would be sitting in a good spot if we offered, which would allow him to staff close to his family an even more importantly give him the opportunity to have his brother around the campus to show him a different lifestyle that he to can attain.

Go Canes

Good story and I'm pretty sure he would give UM an honest look despite the rumors, having gray still signed weather he qualifies or not is a big plus for us, Al should offer asap.

Not saying this kid isn't a nice player, but if he wasn't good enough for an offer in the past why now 1/3 of the way into JAN? Sounds like we struck our w/ 3 other targets and Berrios' now being hurt. I don't think we botched this. We have a few WR commits and hoped for Dixon/Rudolph/Lane. This kid's tape and thread didn't grace the boards until the Nigel video now he's TY Hilton?

The same way uf botched Powell's recruitment? I don't believe they were in contact with him till the twelfth hour.
If the kid has any sense, and UM is the best fit, it shouldn't matter when the offer came......... Unless he's getting terrible advice from those around him!

Add McKenzie to the list of kids that we'll be saying "WTF" about in a year or two.

Not sure if size is the issue, but if it is, I just don't get it. Why anybody would be concerned about size with a slot WR/return specialist is beyond me.

There's countless players in college football and in the NFL that debunk the size thing.

And I have an issue when teams that would kick our *** (or have kicked our *** recently) offer a kid but we don't. These coaches from other schools come down here and basically say "Miami didn't offer you? Pffft. Well come on in!"

Jerk he HAS NOT been accepted at ND. Maybe that is why he decommited. Sheesh low reading comprehension ability. Ie. dumbass

how can you say this with any certainty? Your guess is as good as anyone's.

Since you're obviously new at following recruiting, I'll explain it to you. Kids with bad grades don't commit to ND and consider Florida. You'd be hearing about schools like Marshall, Louisville and West Virginia. If he ends up at one of those schools, maybe it was grades. Doesn't appear to be the case here.

If he ends up elsewhere, I would suspect he could have been accepted at Miami.

do you know how Powell's recruitment went down? Perhaps UF was in constant contact with Powell, working the phones. According to Pete, we basically ignored McKenzie

Jerk you need to get a life Many kids commit to good academic universities. It is when they are not accepted that they start looking at Marshall, Louisville etc . Now that you stand corrected seat on your finger and rotate.

lol, sweet personal attack.

Not only is he not looking at the lowest end universities, but he's looking at good academic institutions, that have just as difficult entry admissions as Miami.

If he's not being recruited because of his grades, why is Trayon Gray committed here?

Weren't you the dumb **** guaranteeing Cook to Miami for the last month?

If so, eat a bag of *****.

If not, still eat that same bag of *****.

he's clearly 14 years old, following recruiting for the first time. Go easy on the kid

Anyone that watched heritage play this year, in person, said he was miami caliber. Many people on the board was calling for an offer after the cypress vs heritage game
