Isaiah McKenzie

I thought there was something about players being allowed to leave if a head coach is fired??? Can't recall where or when I heard this, but I remember hearing it at some point.

usc and penn state players had those allowances because of ncaa sanctions. there has been a push to make a coach firing an allowable circumstance, but that would be a train wreck and a half.

I could be wrong but I also thought it was the case if the coach is fired before their first game after signing day.

Like if golden were fired last March after signing day, I thought the recruits would have been able to transfer

Speed at the punt returning position? No ******* way. Good riddance Berrios.

Sounds good....

I'd rather have too many playmakers than not enough - and we need to always have at least 2 big-time returners on the team at all times...

The SEC's top returner WR Isaiah McKenzie is transferring to TheU. As heard on QAM

Played for both Rumph and Richt

I remember the big Berrios vs McKenzie threads...

McKenzie so far has won that battle. I would love seeing him returning punts over Berrios.

no, you can't transfer and not sit out at any point if the coach leaves. not if you sign and the coach leaves the next day and not if you're a sophomore and the coach leaves. you sign to play for a school, not a coach (we know that's not really true, but, what the ncaa says).

Really good pick up if true. Not only is he an elite returner, but he could make a huge impact on offense as well. In his first two seasons, he has only averaged ten rushes and ten receptions each year, but averages a nice ten yards a carry and reception respectively. Also has found the endzone multiple times in his limited touches. So although his small sample size may make his average yards/per look better then they would be, it also shows that when his time comes he can make plays.

So those in the know.. Does a hardship allow you to play immediately? And if not, is he able to redshirt the year if he had to sit out?

Wow Rumph hiring seems to be paying quick dividends. I forgot Mckenzie went to heritage

Yup, sure can.

If I'm not mistaken, Brock Berlin shirted in '02.

Yes, Berlin redshirted his first year here, but he did not come on a hardship. He simply left because he was behind Grossman and wanted to play.

Berrios is the worst punt returner I have ever seen at UM.

The fact that Elder wasn't back there all the time should have gotten the staff fired sooner.

No. And if you heard it somewhere they were wrong.

this is true but if you remember they said it was a mutual parting. That might come back to haunt them
