Is Trevor Lawrence the first true freshman to win a title?

Am I wrong or were folks on board comparing Lawrence with our Jarren Williams a few months ago? Believe the premise or line was they were of equal talent. We can only wish.
If this turns out to be true, Richt looks even worse for not playing him

Imagine what Malik would've done under Sweeney and Scott..
Then, imagine what Lawrence would've done under Lil Jon and CMR.

The waterboy

Not at all.. Take look at Malik's performance/stats in his first year through his last year here.
You will see a drastic regression.

Not saying Malik would've been in Canton in a few years, but he would've **** sure been alot more productive for us under quality coaching.

For one game vs Duke? LOL

Rosier is trash as Richt offense. A match made in heaven (for the opponents).

Beat Ped St 25-10 orange bowl. Had we beaten Tennessee that year in Sugar Bowl we Natty Champs instead. We thumped OU that year in Norman.

Not instead...also.

Oklahoma unquestionably would have received at least a share of the title, after thumping unbeaten and #1 ranked Penn State.

In fact, Jimmy Johnson was so worried about Oklahoma finishing ahead of Miami in both polls despite the head to head result that he spent a lot of time whining and lobbying prior to the Sugar Bowl

You're probably correct. It happened in, I wanna say 1978. Perhaps the most fraudulent MNC ever awarded by the media.

Alabama got the AP title but they got their asses handed to them by USC in the regular season (in Alabama!!) and then beat a one loss Penn State team in the Sugar bowl. USC beat a two loss Michigan team in the Rose Bowl but lost to Arizona, who was like 9-2 but lost to a sub-.500 team, so the media used that to upsell Alabama's bull**** title.

Formal Fraud but Bear Bryant was THE media darling back then.
