Is this the most depressing time to be a Canes fan since 83?

This is the lowest it's ever been. Even when we had probation under Butch there was still hope and talent. We don't have that anymore. Doesn't help that the administration is happier with making money than fielding a decent team in any sport anymore.

Been a fan of the team since forever, been a fan of the school exclusively since about 05 or 06...can't think of a ****tier time period than this. I would imagine the 95-97 seasons were awful, and I know Shannon's tenure was ****ty, but right now there really is no hope or reason to be excited. Thoughts?

It's pretty bad. As a real old timer who was at the U in the late '60's and early '70's, I saw some really bad football, but back then nothing much was expected out of the program. We NEVER had winning seasons and we never even thought about bowl games. Butch kept the program together during the probation years except for one season. I don't think he lost more than 3 or 4 games despite having severe scholarship restrictions the rest of the time. I never lived close enough during the glory years to attend any games. When I retired and moved back to Florida, we started sucking again. I don't need to watch Golden's garbage. Had hoped to see some games, but I already saw enough awful football out of this school when I was a student.

I'm totally POed with the state of this program now. Am not even going to attend my 50th reunion in a few years. If this is what the university wants, then #### them. It's just a miserable situation.
This and at least we had the OB and for my part was mostly slohed during the games. And as far as the 60's and early 70's..you know what they say ...if you say you remember them...you were't there.

83? ****, there was real buzz back in 83. Everyone knew that Howard was building something. These are tough times now, but they're nothing compared to where this program came from. Nothing.
Lost one game that year, first one of season to hated gators 31- 30. Beginning of an era, this seems to be the beginning of the el krapo era.

Can't say I remember much of all those games, except some exceptional lowlights. We were all pretty drunk when we arrived at the OB. Only way you could stand the garbage on the field back then.

Yes it is. I attended the U in 68-69 . Went thru no expectations to National Championships and a Pride. This current situation is abysmal!

Yes. NOTHING to look forward to. Keeping Golden another year means a default bad recruiting class, a terrible 2015, and a new coach in 2016 IF we are lucky and somehow we get a president who doesn't want the football program to bottom out.

One more year of Golden sets the program back four years.

UF has already jumped WAY ahead of us, and other teams are just increrasing the gap. UL will remain LIGHT YEARS ahead of us, as will Clemson and Free Shoes, while the awful Coastal teams just keep putting distance bewteen them and us.

Just no hope. Literally nothing to look forward to. On top of that, teams that I hate are pretty **** good. Just depressing..

There's one thing to hope for....a blowout by South Carolina.

Every little bit helps. If these morons don't fire him I want them to have the most annoying, pressure filled, miserable off season which includes nothing but constant media/fan questions at when Golden will be fired.

Yeah this is the most depressing time period but nothing beats how I felt after the robbery in the desert. Even changed my vmail to say "We all know who the real national champion is..." That ish was brutal. Now I'm just numb I guess.

True...but at least we were good back then and we (at the time) thought we'd be back.

Right now there's zero hope until this bum gets fired.

This is the worst because Golden is inexplicably getting a lame-duck season.

Next year is going to be absolute garbage.

Golden has solidified himself as being the worse HC in modern miami history...( he did this in 2011). And now it's clear the administration doesn't give a *** so yea I'd say that's the case.
