Is this the most depressing time to be a Canes fan since 83?

Been a fan of the team since forever, been a fan of the school exclusively since about 05 or 06...can't think of a ****tier time period than this. I would imagine the 95-97 seasons were awful, and I know Shannon's tenure was ******, but right now there really is no hope or reason to be excited. Thoughts?

Its honestly like being a passenger on a bus and everyone is yelling at the driver to slow down around the next curve because everyone on the bus has driven that road twice before, yet the bus driver refuses to listen to any of the passengers.

It's pretty bad. As a real old timer who was at the U in the late '60's and early '70's, I saw some really bad football, but back then nothing much was expected out of the program. We NEVER had winning seasons and we never even thought about bowl games. Butch kept the program together during the probation years except for one season. I don't think he lost more than 3 or 4 games despite having severe scholarship restrictions the rest of the time. I never lived close enough during the glory years to attend any games. When I retired and moved back to Florida, we started sucking again. I don't need to watch Golden's garbage. Had hoped to see some games, but I already saw enough awful football out of this school when I was a student.

I'm totally POed with the state of this program now. Am not even going to attend my 50th reunion in a few years. If this is what the university wants, then #### them. It's just a miserable situation.

Not watching the bowl game, and not watching next year at all. Maybe by the time I'm in a nursing home drooling in my green jello, I'll watch on TV again, because there will be nothing else to do. However, if this program still sucks, it may give me a stroke.
 
Yes, this is the worst time because it's increasingly clear that the program as we knew it will never return. The administration has done nothing to show they're willing to get on the lead lap with regards to committing financial resources. If they continue with that trend then Miami football is dead.

Crap maybe you are bad luck! Just kidding, fellow old timer. I remember those days when the only reason to go was to watch one player, a Ted, or Foreman, OJ, Mira(senior) Rubin Carter. Then Howard showed up and suddenly we had teams. This year I watched to see Duke. Next year it will be Kaaya.

I feel the same way about today that you do. Would not even think of going to reunion unless we could use Donna for target practice. I've painfully funded a trust with full tuition for all my grandkids to go to THE U. Couple weeks ago I changed the terms to deny them all benefits if they do go to THE U. I would rather burn my own school down than give the smucks who run it one more cent.

83? ****, there was real buzz back in 83. Everyone knew that Howard was building something. These are tough times now, but they're nothing compared to where this program came from. Nothing.

Back in the old days, we didn't expect anything. But since then we've tasted glory. We're like blind men who were given sight for a few years. Rich men who are now destitute gutter snipes.

It's more horrible than ever because I know it doesn't have to be this way. We're here by choice. And that eats the dirtiest of asses.
 
Worse time to be a fan since 1979

Heck even in 1981 we finished 9-2 and ranked #9 in the final AP Poll. I don't think anyone saw the dynasty coming but it was getting quite obivous that we were acquiring talent and were going to start going to bowl games on a daily basis.
 
Im not watching the high school bowl game I will be watching the Triple header on espn u when BTW, MC and TC take own two teams out of Utah and 1 from the state of Washington. Don't understand why STA or Apopka didn't play in the high school football showdown. Only Florida state champions are a loud to play in the game because I can think of at least 10 ten that I would pick over TC to play in this game.
