I don’t remember Calais playing DT here. I remember being used inside and outside but playing on the strong side.

Jerome Brown 1, Kennedy 2, Sapp 3, Maryland 4, Wilfork 5
Hendricks 1, Edwards 2, Stubbs 3, Campbell 4 (on nfl not cfb), Rousseau comin

No offense to Lang, Holmes, Krein, Patrick but they ain't on the top 10 list. And there are some folks be deserving of mention but forgotten about. Don Smith, Don Latimer, Ruben Carter, Lester Williams, Gary Dunn, Jim Burt, Tony Rockyhorror, Dan Sileo, Cristiani, Hawkins, McDougle

Safety as well.

Ed Reed & Sean Taylor are hands down the 2 greatest Safeties ever in the history of the game, college or pro.

But then you add on Bennie Blades, Al Blades, Antrel Rolle, Brandon Meriweather, Kenny Phillips, Tremaine Mack, Darryl Williams, Bubba McDowell etc, I can't think of any other school that had a stronger group of Safeties than we had in the glory years.

There's a strong case to be made at LB & RB too, if we're just talking college.

Assume you meant Bennie Blades. He actually had a more decorated college career than reed or taylor.

Can we please stop living in the past. Thanks.
Further to that, almost started a thread to make the following point:

Miami has not had a football All American since 2005!!!

We had All Americans consistently from the 1950s to 2005. NONE since. It’s stunning to look at. Anyone who thinks our talent hasn’t been down a lot is missing the picture. UM guys didn’t make AA teams before Howard because of team success. The lack of top level talent the past 15 years is stunning.

Ronnie Lott had a better career and would probably be considered a better player than ST. I think Taylor had more potential but it was tragically cut short.

Best position group, imo, is UM safety: Reed, Taylor, Blades, D. Dub, Burgess Owens, Marion, KP, Meriweather et al.

ILB at Miami is Lewis, Morgan, Barrow, Vilma, Brophy, Beason, Clark, Spence, Perryman
Daryl Williams is still one of my favorite players ever. Reed is my actual favorite football player ever. Bennie Blades is way up there. I loved Meriweather here. What a fun position group to watch. Shame we've underperformed at recruiting and developing Safeties. Florida should be a haven for WRs and QBs who moved over to Safety. Jenkins was a guy i liked here, but was stuck under D'Ono. Got one clean year. Still a big Gurvan fan. We'll see.

I mean it's up there man Sapp was unlockable and would be today too. So many studs man.....if it ain't number one someone show me who is number one. And that goes for safeties to.....if u have Reed and Taylor on a list by themselves no other pair is better ever.

Sean Taylor is not one of the greats safeties of all time in the pros.
