Is This Even Possible?

I subscribe to the idea that there are no coincidences.

The U Part 2 comes out, and here's a TV special on Butch Davis, with enough other material thrown in to call it a documentary.

Next, there's an article by the Herald where Butch is asked pointed questions about what's wrong with the program, and even suggests some of Golden's past excuses, where Butch blows that out of the water.

Now we have a radio interview with Butch Davis, and once again, he's addressing problems and solutions.

Postulation #1 - The media want Butch Davis back at UM, and are giving him access to different media that is particularly interesting to Miami folks.

Postulation #2 - UM wants Butch back, and they're casting Butch among the media, doing in essence, a pre-sell of Butch Davis in anticipation of him being hired as the Head Coach. Getting fan feedback, easing Miami fans into the idea of what Butch can do for Miami.

And with the positive feedback from fans, the normal introductory period normally associated with a new coach - is greatly diminished - and everyone involved with the hire will be able to make his hire a no-brainer, rather than lots of traditional ****ing and moaning with who they selected.

Is this POSSIBLE?

It darn sure feels like they are testing the waters of public opinion.

I don't think UM is involved at all, they seem pretty committed to being clueless. Butch on the other hand smells blood in the water and has the full court press on. He knows exactly what he's doing because this is easily the best path to him once again being a big time coach at a program that competes for championships. Honestly it's a campaign he's been ramping up since last year with growing intensity to make sure he's on the mind whenever this job becomes available (which obviously seems inevitable).

He passed the teast, even got the extra credit question correct. Give him the prize already.

Sadly this. It makes too much sense, so our leaders can't be involved. #BringButchBack #CanesNotLames

They have spoken..

We need the Gamecocks to crush us. Absolutely emasculate Arch.

I hope they win by 40.

Blake just responded to my email with this.

"Thank you for your note and your support of our program. While we do not want to lose you as a season ticket holder, we will not be making a coaching change. We are building our program and hope that we can count on your continued support.

All the best to you and your family this holiday season. Wishing you a healthy and happy 2015!

Go Canes!
Blake"

It's apparent that some of the brass at UM are involved and these frustrated members of the BOT who want change don't have the numbers to make moves. But Butch is showing some big balls NOW after having being so classy in earlier interviews.

UM is too incompetent, inept and flaccid to hatch such a smart scheme.

Butch, on the other hand, is as shrewd and ruthless as they come. He's a big hungry lion, who sees a bloated, diabetes-addled, toothless boar lumbering around in cheap pleated khakis.

Maybe technically, not UM admins, but powerful boosters/BOT members with UM. Just checking the temperature, wind direction, and specific humidity. Knowing there may be an opportunity after the Bowl game.

Big boosters/BOT members with enough sway can swing the deal. Maybe they just wanted to see the public reaction.

But he was anything but shrewd and ruthless previously. Someone, somewhere near the body, a few important people must be pushing. This is the most muted period without someone in Admin making some pronouncements to either DEFEND Golden or simply muttering that Butch is out of line, or some crap that Butch doesn't understand this ain't 1999. crickets from UM is telling.

I'd like to hope they are but #2 sounds way too smart for them.
