Butch's problem isn't the NCAA, it's Blake. He hired Blake to improve recruitment which it did but Blake had a background everybody knew about including Butch. He is the one who they say got the program on probation. Butch may be free from the NCAA but he will never cut his ties from Blake. Very doubtful UM gives him the time of day. Those kind of bad judgement decisions tend to follow you.

Of course there is a chance. And a pretty **** good one too. The noise from fans, media and ex-canes and alums are too loud for the BOT to ignore. They only have to give him a chance by looking more carefully at his role at UNC and give him the courtesy of an interview. Once they do that, he will be the top candidate on their list.

One has to look no further to determine if he has a chance than the empty Sun Dead Stadium. The amount of buzz and money that would be generated by this program IMMEDIATELY would be immeasurable. Certainly, the BoT cannot overlook what a tremendous shot in the arm it would be to bring Butch back. This community is starving for something to give them hope...and the BoT has that something right in front of them. I truly believe that they have to, at least, give him the interview and hear him out. This process as far as many of us are concerned cannot be completed, either way, without talking to Butch.
