Is there anyone out there that doesnt think the Canes can win this thing?

Mario and Beck. Thats what it'll come down to.

How will Mario react with the offensive gameplan once Beck throws a pick and the pressure gets high? Will he go into conservative shell, or will he keep the offense open.

Thats the key to me.

Isn’t this what they all play for? $$. Aside I would think the canes show up for this playoff. I think we have yet to see the canes play their best game. One game at a time. Their bracket is ridiculous

I don't think it's unwarranted. Carr **** near mounted a comeback evading pressure & completing passes down field. I remember Drones & Heintschel doing the same at least a couple time apiece. With Concepcion on the receiving end those could be tds. Your right in that we've been night & day better against running qbs but I still see mobile qbs as cause for concern personally.
I think that's a fair statement for any team defensively in the country, though. If you go back and rewatch our tape against FSU, after that first drive* and before we went into prevent mode, we were a nightmare for Castellanos. Wes did a nice job of spying that night and the corner/safety blitz was effective as well. If we're able to hit Reed early and get him off kilter with his timing, I think that'll go a long way to disrupting him throughout the rest of the game

Biggest obstacle that I see is that we have a first round road game. Last year the road teams weren't even really competitive in the first round. I think we profile very similar to Clemson last year in terms of talent profile and they got beaten handily by UT on the road.

I'm almost having a hard time seeing them lose. The O and D line will be the difference. The way the defense has been playing all year showed me they are built for this moment. A few hiccups in games they should have won, but the last 4 games were unlike anything we have seen in YEARS! I am picturing Mario with that trophy over his head in January. Will it into existence. LETS GO CANES!!!! :neonu:

All depends if the bounces go our way. We can beat anyone on any day - but so can almost all the big boys we are playing now.

So glad we are in this!

Easier to prepare for a statue with our pass rush. That is why I prefer a statue so they can 100% get after it. And some mobile qbs extend drives castellanos did a few did but they did
Yeah 100% I'd much rather be going up against a slow pocket passer lmao but our D has gone against some good running threat QBs and held up great against them, no reason to think they won't hold up against another.

My only concerns would be hiccups from Beck and who is the 2nd option when teams double Toney? All the teams have some form of wart to deal with so it's not implausible. We do have to face most of the highest pure talent teams I'd be curious how lacking a 2nd premier option comes into play. I think we would beat everybody in the top half of the bracket.
Most of these teams on the lower side have a pair of stud receivers to lean on that we don't have to that degree so can't afford to get in shootouts.
disagree. Marion, CJ, even Upshaw. all of them have stepped up.

Maybe JoJo can contribute this time.

Lofton, Fletcher and Pringle can all be outlets in the pass game, too

We HAVE To cut out the pre-snap penalties we keep killing ourselves with.We won’t win this game if we have the usual 8-10 pre-snap motion penalties we have every game.
If we can do this we will have a great chance of advancing.Penalties and TO’s on the short side of the field.

Yeah that's fair. I'd say that Reed is about as dangerous with his legs as Castellanos is. I will say I'm definitely concerned about his running ability if A&M gets into goal to go. Dude is dangerous in those situations.

LOL

OF COURSE they can lose to the Aggies- they are an underdog in the betting lines for a reason!

A&M was the third ranked team in the SEC

with several All Americans.

When we are playing our best football, it does look like we can beat anyone. But mostly, we've only seen that in bursts.

OP wrote our defense is built for this...and I agree. I would add that our lines are built for this.

Lines travel. We have good lines and good vet QB.

If we play focused good football for a long sustained time, we'll win. If we play like that, but only incrementally, we'll lose.

Beck - Daniels - Mali - Marion.

Explosives have been rare and they know we're gonna try to run in the A gap. This one's in the hands of our OC, our 7-figure QB, and his targets. Assuming the defense plays to par.

Notre dame blocked a punt on opening possession against A&M early in year so maybe we can do similar in our game. We need to bring our A game to win but I definitely think we can and will win. But it won't be easy playing on the road against this caliber of a team in the SEC.

I would imagine A&M will try to copy what worked against us in the Louisville game.

We have to be creative and imaginative as well on both sides of the ball and can't take anything for granted. I expect Mario will have our boys ready to play.

Go Canes!
