Why would that divide the team?

They're in their 50s and 60s, they're not teenagers.

It's a highly unlikely pipe dream, but Butch Davis is part of UM folklore and there would be no humbling/sacrificing pride to come in as an AHC/DC for 7 figures and have him and Richt run train on all of CFB.

In fact it might even be the first and only of its kind and become folklore for all of CFB.

No, only the low IQ portion of the "Cane Fam" even keeps talking about this idea. WQAM just reported little Butchy "bombed" his interview and by "bombed" they mean he **** himself and face-planted. Get over it, no one is bringing butch back in any capacity ever at UM. Let it go, I know the comfort of nostalgia - undoubtedly those that yearn for Butch to enter them again, have probably achieved very little in the years since he was put out to pasture and therefore subconsciously link Butch Davis with a period in their life when they were younger, thinner, less bald, appealing to the opposite ***, hopeful of a wealthy and fun life, and leaning forward into life's mysteries. Now, life has beaten them, the gut is bigger, the peen barely works, your hair is thinning, women think you smell of garlic, the U hasn't won anything in more than a decade, young people think flashing "The U" is lame, and your life is ending one minute at a time and you have achieved nothing of note. I'm convinced 30 years from now we'll have people asking if there's any way science has discovered a method to resurrect Butch's corpse and give it the DL coaching job.

What will be interesting is to see if anyone else hires Butch as a HC ...... I doubt it

Butch recruited the greatest college team of all time and did it with harsh sanctions. Do us all a favor find the nearest bridge and off yourself.
