Is Rick just stubborn, or is it far worse?

The irony is Relly that Richt being obviously egotisical and hardheaded is that one would think he would do everything in his power to cement his legacy to satisfy that ego. For me, that's one of the most baffling things. He's getting a second chance to prove all the naysayers wrong, and yet he's letting that ego get in his way of proving the naysayers correct. Complete and utter contradiction.

Great, great point. I felt the same way. I thought he took the job to prove ppl wrong. Now it appears he took the job so just he can sail off in to the sunset to coach w his boy.

We should’ve NEVER extended him and it was a rush decision by this admin for no reason.

I'd have to agree Relly. I'm really sad to say, that it seems all the quick extension did was stroke his ego to the point where he now feels invincible.

@The Franchise

Richt has Delusional Disorder.

"Delusions are fixed beliefs that do not change, even when a person is presented with conflicting evidence."

"Delusional disorder refers to a condition in which an individual displays one or more delusions for one month or longer...If a person has delusional disorder, functioning is generally not impaired and behavior is not obviously odd, with the exception of the delusion. Delusions may seem believable at face value, and patients may appear normal as long as an outsider does not touch upon their delusional themes."

Our players, assistant coaches, and our reporters are coming up against the underscored. This is probably one of the main sources of friction within our program. No question. And, this disorder is also the likely reason why he makes the hires he makes, in order to continue to protect his delusion.

So, Richt will not change. We are paying a man $4.1 million a year with a mental health disorder that directly impacts his job function. No question in my mind his unwillingness to change at UGA cost him first his duties as a play caller and later his job. The results here speak for themselves.

Compare our offense to our defense in year three. And, I'm not saying Manny is perfect, but the numbers are what they are.

83rd ranked offense in the country in year three. Rosier career 53.3% completions. 5 star Mark Pope zero receptions.*

Total Defense**
2. UM
83. UNC
68. FSU
20. UVA
52. BC
65. Dook
45. GT
93. VT
