Is Rick just stubborn, or is it far worse?

Rich isn't stupid. He's playing UM for everything he can get out of them. Name another major college in the country that has 3 family members on their football staph wetting their beak at the expense of all the fans and players.

Call it stubborn. Call it malpractice. Call it narcissistic.

I call it gettin paid, gettin paid!!!! He is rinsing us worse than Gorlden did.

But he can quote scripture with the best of them so somehow many people give him a pass for that.

That uncle Lou dude was 100%. Mork Rich is the highest paid youth pastor in America.

THE WORST PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS:

He's gonna milk this schitty offense situation until it becomes untenable (not untenable to us or the players but untenable to his higher-up's) then he's gonna finally cave in and hire a dedicated OC. That will buy him even more years wetting his family's beak. The rub on this is that he isn't going to really hire some great new offensive mind. He's gonna dig up his Rolodex and hire some old ******* dust fart that won't ever question him or go against his wishes.

We are stuck with this until we as fans go full Gorlden. No attending games. No donations. NO season ticket renewals.
Banners at every single game. Calls to Jake Blames. Emails. Vitriol. We need kids at the basketball games yelling into the ESPN cameras again before any real changes will be made.

Omnem Iram Vincere

We have a God damned bartender as a paid corch on staph. Say what you want about gorlden but this schit takes Amateur Night at the Apollo to a whole new level.

I mentioned this in another thread; Richt has us by the balls. Again, we’ve paid him the most $ he’s ever made on a contract. He made all these terms to accept the position and we gave him full autonomy.

Had we did our due diligence, research, we would’ve found out why Richt got fired. This had been brewing among the UGA base for a couple of yrs. He was fired for a reason. He’s tarnishing whatever legacy he had, but why would he care? He’s making $4m/yr.

as the head coach. Not ‘just’ as an oc.

I am having similar feelings about chit canning MR, but reality is that dude is not going anywhere for at least a whole other season. What I do want rammed down his throat is being forced to fire certain coaches asap after the season and bring in quality replacements. Specifically, he better bring in an OC that is truly vetted to be able to call plays. His son needs to be transferred to an analyst position if he is going to stay on the coaching staff. Searless needs to ***ing go asap as well. And Hartley needs to be fired from Special Teams . Lastly, the Patke hire was a straight waste

Absofrickinlutely. Guaranteed if Mork had to hire an OC it would be some old *** retired Gawgia HS coach that hasn't even seen a football game in almost 15 years. Miami would run some antique version of the Single Wing.
**** ...... someone please get us a beer.

Rick was not allowed to hire his son at UGA because of nepotism laws. Nepotism laws exist for a good reason- because we don't want managers hiring their unqualified kids over qualified candidates. First thing Rick did at UM was hire his son since the school doesn't have nepotism rules. If Rick's kid fails at the position he is hired to and the team suffers for it, then Rick more than deserves all the heat he is getting. Most schools wouldn't have allowed it to prevent the situation we are in now. Rick's nepotism is blowing up in his face.

There has to be some elibility concerns regarding that social media post Perry made with the money. They’re just not telling us. You work Perry into the offense and you make him your starter. I can understand pulling him in the Virginia game but it makes no sense to not start him the following game no matter how much of a knucklehead he is when you consider Rosier can’t hit a five yard out.

Don't know about the stubbornness but I do know and can see the poor ST, OL and QB play. This is year 3 and his choices for assistants to coach these has been poor. Even more troubling is the lack of urgency and cottamn rage needed to make changes here. You all think Sabag or Jimmy Johnson would have tolerated this for this long?

This. People fell all over themselves to make him a king because he was okay at a big program. Truth is, he racked up that record because he was fortunate to inherit low expectations and barely exceed them. Kept him around. Win a meaningful game now and then. Lose to Florida. Try again next year. Any worse he wouldn’t last. Not sure there is another major program he could have done that at. Higher expectations and he’d have been fired sooner. Worse talent access and he’d have been fired sooner. Georgia was his perfect job but he couldn’t win there.
Exactly what I kept telling people in here before we hired Rick. I always said we had 15 years of evidence of him at a comparable program and asked what they thought would be different here.

He is what his extensive history tells us he is—a 9 win coach who is rigid and hangs on to poor assistants (Willie Martinez for one) too long. I also pointed out his spotty at best QB and WR recruiting.

Guys hit me back with “he can be our Roy Williams.”

screenshot this post & start attaching it to every ******* email you send to those ****roaches on the BOT & in administration. We got Golden out &
we’ll get this numb nut out too. Chise you’re a national treasure pal. Go Canes !
You’re a man of impeccable taste and manners.

Delvin was a good player....Carol City kid if I remember correctly...was always hanging with Starks and Wembley....

Heck of a build and a phenomenal athlete. Played bball against him in the gym and it was like running into a brick wall.

The irony is Relly that Richt being obviously egotisical and hardheaded is that one would think he would do everything in his power to cement his legacy to satisfy that ego. For me, that's one of the most baffling things. He's getting a second chance to prove all the naysayers wrong, and yet he's letting that ego get in his way of proving the naysayers correct. Complete and utter contradiction.

Rule #1 when hiring someone.

Never hire someone you CAN'T fire.
No one, and I mean NO ONE, is indispensable (well, maybe Sabags LOL).

I've seen it many times where someone thinks they are and then get blindsided by the powers that be.

I've been involved in several situations where colleagues and I have said amongst ourselves that so and so is incompetent but untouchable because of who he is or because of the position he holds and why can't the powers that be see it as well.

I've always been pleasently surprised that the powers that be know what's going on and are waiting for the right time and right situation to make the necessary move that most benefits the organization and lessons any potential negative impacts.

Whether or not that's happening at the U is anyone's guess and well above my pay grade. Only time will tell.

Not sure if he has the self-awareness to get better. I think the problem is he views himself as an offensive specialist and, while that may have been true at some point, it isn't anymore. He's proven himself to be a good CEO-type head coach -- our program and local recruiting have improved under his watch. How well the defense, which he's delegated to a capable and well-paid coordinator, is doing is an indicator of what could happen on the offensive side of the ball if he just did the same. Instead of going out and finding the best specialists on that side of the ball though, he's hired his son and a former protege to help him execute his vision. If this slump on offense with this amount of talent hasn't made him realize this, I don't know what will.
