Is Rick just stubborn, or is it far worse?

He clearly hates Perry at this point.

I don’t know if you are old enough to remember a player named Delvin Brown. Delvin played a lot early in his career and was looking like a pretty good prospect. He got in Booch Davis’s doghouse and was never heard from again.

I get the feeling Perry is in a similar place even though I don’t think he’s a very good QB right now anyway and would do little to nothing to help us get around Rick’s busted offense.
Delvin was a good player....Carol City kid if I remember correctly...was always hanging with Starks and Wembley....

Is it just the BoTs then? Why not appoint someone with the ability to make course corrections?

The problem is that we have a doormat for an athletic director, and an absent BOT.

Richt is stubborn because he is allowed to be. Same as it was with Golden. Same as it will be for any coach that coaches Miami in the future.

We have the worst-run athletic department in America.

This is true. You can’t get this many hires wrong and suck for 20 years with out being the absolute worst athletic dept in the country.

Evaluate for yourself:

Finally, Richt reiterated, when asked about play-calling, his belief that UM’s offensive problems have nothing to do with the game plan, and that coaches have an array of good options for every situation.
“It’s a matter of can you execute them or not,’’ he said. “So, the plays aren’t bad. The plays are executed not enough on a consistent basis, and that’s for us as coaches to make sure they can do that. That’s the battle right now.’’

Well there you have it, another example of him flat out refusing to admit his Offensive scheme is not working. No way this dude steps away as OC unless he is fired.

I started to write long-*** thing about all the stuff wrong with that quote, but I can't even.

If this is what he thinks, then there's no hope at all that he can do the job or step out of the way long enough to let an OC get it done. We're seeing what went on at UGA from the inside, and it will end the same. If we force an OC on him, he'll just be miserable and put out an even worse effort. If that's possible.

I used to think Richt was a pretty **** good coach that just hadn't had the break through championship season. But good coaches can adapt to the talent they have on hand. Richt is incapable of doing that.

Miami has to be one of the easiest teams to prepare for defensively. Nothing we do is different from game to game. No formation changes, no motion, no scheming to get certain players the ball. This is the most unimaginative offense in college football right now.

Richt needs to check his ego and give up play calling for good. If he fails makes to moves on the coaching staff then he's settling instead of striving to be great. Great coaches have an ******* quality about them that allows them to fire guys that aren't getting it done. Richt can start by firing himself.

Rich isn't stupid. He's playing UM for everything he can get out of them. Name another major college in the country that has 3 family members on their football staph wetting their beak at the expense of all the fans and players.

Call it stubborn. Call it malpractice. Call it narcissistic.

I call it gettin paid, gettin paid!!!! He is rinsing us worse than Gorlden did.

But he can quote scripture with the best of them so somehow many people give him a pass for that.

That uncle Lou dude was 100%. Mork Rich is the highest paid youth pastor in America.

THE WORST PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS:

He's gonna milk this schitty offense situation until it becomes untenable (not untenable to us or the players but untenable to his higher-up's) then he's gonna finally cave in and hire a dedicated OC. That will buy him even more years wetting his family's beak. The rub on this is that he isn't going to really hire some great new offensive mind. He's gonna dig up his Rolodex and hire some old ******* dust fart that won't ever question him or go against his wishes.

We are stuck with this until we as fans go full Gorlden. No attending games. No donations. NO season ticket renewals.
Banners at every single game. Calls to Jake Blames. Emails. Vitriol. We need kids at the basketball games yelling into the ESPN cameras again before any real changes will be made.

Omnem Iram Vincere

We have a God damned bartender as a paid corch on staph. Say what you want about gorlden but this schit takes Amateur Night at the Apollo to a whole new level.

I agree, but also what does this all say about Blake James as he watches this ship slam into an iceberg and he does nothing about it? AD malpractice?
He's a brown noser.
Got cushy job.
Don't make waves..

Excellent. Agree with that analysis. I am also firmly in the camp that says we need to hire an offensive mastermind with a track record of putting fast high-scoring offense on the field.

We need a hungry young up and comer. I’m so sick of all this retread garbage I hear on CIS. All they want is some crusty old man with Low T or someone who played here or coached here from 2000-2003.
Is it just the BoTs then? Why not appoint someone with the ability to make course corrections?
There is a precedent for that.
Late 1976, we hired a man to do what you're suggesting.
Name was Dr Henery Green.
Saved UM football program..

From Oct 25th, 2015. Not groundbreaking stuff. Just simple, uneducated fan logic. The ability to hire and fire is what makes organizations great, or not.

It seems to be a combination of incompetence and stubbornness. His words and actions show he won't change. But even if he did, I doubt he has the aptitude to make any changes that would result in improved performance.
great point!!!!!

It’s uncanny how much this is looking like Folden but on the other side of the ball.

Absolutely true on what will happen if they force him to hire an OC. He’ll dig up some slug who will just run the same tired **** he runs. Prepare for the resurrection of Brad Scott.

Carlos Jones is a more extreme example. From every game starter to never playing.
Wow! Carlos Jones. I remember him having to replace the starter in a bowl game and lit it up. Can't remember if it was the Orange Bowl and if it was his freshman year.
