Seriously CFB is dead.

The days of committing to a school and playing all 4 years there are over. Now we have players looking to transfer after one bad scrimmage. As a long time fan this game is unrecognizable.

This is free agency by any other name and its accelerating.
$EC bags have destroyed the whole "amateur student athlete" concept forever!

at this point the NCAA should allow a standard players fee to end this bag game and limit these portal transfers.

CFL might be dead but look like Miami is reaping the benefits of the Portal!! This could be the rise of the great U once again as these recruits now begin to look for a nice landing spot!!

But Diaz needs to tread carefully though who he let in!!

Like somebody else posted earlier. These transfers are excellent for a band aid year as long as it produces onfield results. This isn’t what I want our identity to be every season though. Don’t want to be the next Marshall. Not gonna win championships that way.

You do realize even if NCAA paid players.....bags would still be dropped

Lol @ standard players fee's eliminating a bag game. Do you even live in America? Everything has price.

Yup. Either the free market decides the price, or the black market will. Economic control is a ******* illusion.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

Oh right, “free” schools.

yes its possible but to state it better what we might need is some sort of salary cap.

Right now Alabaga pays Satan like 7 million and he has 100 assistants, a private helicopter, and lord know what else for an "amateur" sport. They are like the New York Yankees with limitless funds. This shouldn't be allowed, not to this degree

Now we have CFB free agency as well.

I'm sure a better solution can be worked out. Next thing you know these transfer portals will hire agents to get them better deals.

NCAA=NFL

Actually the portal might cripple the bag game. If kids can transfer easily, the return on investment will decline.

I dunno, without thinking about it too deeply it seems like it might actually level out the playing field some. Instead of bagma having 4 and 5 stars three deep in the rotation, maybe some of them will transfer to other teams for more playing time/tape for NFL scouts. Winning a ship for the truly talented players is only part of the dream, getting to the NFL and getting paid is the end goal. Ballers get drafted from little schools every year.

More freedom of choice for players is a good thing, period.

It def does a little

Bama losing Jalen hurts and Najee Harris definitely hurts them

There goes the best back up qb in the country probably and their best RB

While guys like Jefferson, Grimes, and Schuler helped UF out instantly and their all back next year

So uhh.. u don't think they'll drop bags for the transfers?

They might but again the return on investment is smaller. Plus if these kids already got paid and are one year from make or break nfl dream the bag losing impact. Money does matter but the equation changes as the draft get close.

Kids who commit to schools and don't have it work out should have the right to an organized transfer system like the one they've put in.

No more bull**** from some bloated HC telling him he can only go here or there but nothing in conference or if we play them two years from now.

Think it also keeps it cleaner for other HCs for recruiting. Eliminates tampering and violation questions. If a kid is in the portal, then you can call him.

Only rule that MUST be maintained is the one year wait if you change schools. With the new four game redshirt rule, think it makes it much more fair for everyone.
