Is NC State Actually Good?

If Jolly and Smothers play they put up numbers enough to beat us.

Jolly is who we thought Lofton was and J is always looking for him so if we think were gonna just put mo taure, chase smith on him good luck lol

CJ will be piped up for this game as well as the other s.fla kids who feel slighted.

Dawson needs to call the offense with tempo, quicker passes, and less for Carson to process. We all can see he struggles when he has too much time to throw, as if that makes any sense. Hopefully Fletcher returns to start, but our luck seems to be anyone hurt enough to miss a game will miss multiple games. Need CJ Daniels back as well. I love all the freshman playing, they all need to rotate in, but Daniels has the experience we need.

Dawson, of course, will not call the offense with tempo, so expect a struggle.

It will be Miami mistakes making this game closer, or even a loss. Penalties were at a minimum against Syracuse so that’s a good sign.

Game could go either way and I would not be surprised if this was Mario’s next loss as a double-digit favorite.

Tempo and push the action don’t let the defense key in… another game beck should eat in if he keeps his head on right.

Will only be close if Mario and dawson redeploy the SMU game plan

This is literally Carson if he has to hold the ball and think more than 2.5 seconds.....then he makes a horrendous throw

Let it rip, for real this time. Ditch the 12 personnel, insert Pringle, Marion, JoJo, and Toney and push the ball downfield. The OL can pass block. The pass defense for State is cheeks, like one of the worst. If we haven’t learned our lesson vs SMU then we will lose this game 21-20.

Obviously we have to win the game, but this is also a massive chance to make it difficult for the committee to justify ranking Notre Dame so far ahead of us. Ostensibly, the committee weighs results against common opponents (although supposedly not margin of victory but given their affinity for the eye test so far...) and Notre Dame pasted this team less than a month ago.

The offense seems to be legit:

- CJ Bailey is coming into his own and I would very much prefer him over LaNorris Sellers in the portal if we are picking between the two.
- Terrell Anderson is the big play guy and he is good. Noah Rogers is the possession guy and he is solid if unspectacular. Teddy Hoffman is the third receiver who is on the rise. A Florida kid that I sorta wish we had recruited.
- The guy who makes me the most nervous is the tight end, Justin Joly. He is one of the five best in the country (maybe behind only Fall Camp Elija Lofton) and a potential matchup nightmare for most of our DBs and certainly our linebackers in space. Maybe

We remain one of the best run-stopping defenses in the entire country and NC State's offensive line is nothing special, so we should be able to stop the run without too much stress, but I expect Bailey to light us up in the pass game. Think SMU where the run game was a complete non-factor but Jennings threw for a career-high.

I am nervous.

Their rush defense is okay, not that that matters since we can't even run the ball effectively against ******* Syracuse. But the pass defense is exceptionally terrible.

THEY ARE RANKED 135TH IN THE COUNTRY IN PASSING YARDS ALLOWED. THAT IS SECOND-WORST IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. The only team that is worse? SMU. Kill me now.

I really couldn't be more nervous for this game. Bailey will obviously be pumped up for this one. NC State is a carbon-copy statistically to SMU and while Dave Doeren isn't the offensive guru that Lashlee is, he is a good coach who will have his guys ready to play.

Can we PLEASE get out to a fast start? Maybe try some play-action? Get the tight ends involved? Okay let's not get crazy.
Miami will make them look better than Louie and SMU.

Errrrbody else plays them like a bad high school team.

Smothers is the best running back in the conference if he’s healthy. They can score but are generally inconsistent on offense. Defensively they suck. We couldn’t take advantage of SMU’s horrible pass defense so I’m not convinced we will against Nc State.

This isn’t Stanford or Syracuse. We can’t spend half the game running for one yard at a time while playing as slow as possible. They will get a lead against us if we **** around.

Our offense actually had some fun against Syracuse so hopefully we can keep that second half momentum going.

Concerns- 315+ NT over Brokenmeyer.
Concerns- Toure, Bissainthe, and every DB not named Scott tackling in space
Concerns- Beck without Fletcher and Daniels
Concerns- Drop 7-8 and force Beck to run will be their game plan (same to beat TVD)

NCSU sucks but if Smothers and Jolly are back it'll be a close one.

They get up for big games...we're a big game. And they will definitely out coach us.
Don't see us coming out of this one alive as CVD will do CVD things.
So was ND not a big game for them. They got smashed and bailey was awful.

Try not to score in the first quarter. That will make them sad. Keep it close. Slow and steady. Keep it interesting by allowing them to score late in the game. Maybe throw a pick to keep them happy.

We run offense in a 20 yd box. Any DC with half a mind for scheme can slow our O down. We do not truly try to attack deep and safties creep up very close to the los and get involved in run lanes and close down passing windows for our simple pass scheme. We must show more route diversity on the outside and the ability to win vertically to really open this O up. Until then its rock fight central with tons of pressure on the D to keep us in games.

Hope we got all our trick plays practiced up to score .

28 minutes to score on CUSE not good with the greatest OLINE in CFB we had to trick plays CUSE yo score.

Nothing is repaired in our mindset.

Brace yourselves

It’s ok guys…it takes over one week to learn how to let it rip. Maybe this week we see a pass that travels over 20 yards. Maybe we see 10 personnel spread out wide. Maybe we decide to play the first half on offense. Tempo will be vs Pitt.
