Is Michael Irvin going to be in this class?

Any chance dad pays his way?

No, kid deserves a scholly.

Of course he does but that wouldn't stop Playmaker from donating his scholly money if he wanted to.

Exactly. It would be a relatively easy and cheap way to increase the amount of schollies the team has to give out. And totally NCAA-bull**** conform.

That is brilliant. 250k is nothing to Sr. and would free up another spot. Not familiar with any donations he has previously given but I would think he has probably given more than that in the past.

Miami is at the hard cap of 105 football players. It sure would be nice to sign up James and Irvin as walk-ons while getting 250k donations from their families to help cover most of the costs.

Richt is not stupid enough to not give a scholarship to Jr. Just because his dad can afford to pay da tuition. It's about respect and any coach or university that is that cheap *** and stupid would deserve to go down in flames. Richt is smart.

It's not about Richt not giving him a scholarship or if he deserves one. It's about his dad who obviously loves his alma mater, giving the team two scholarship players, legally by paying his tuition. It's not about disrespect, it's a no brainer to help the team.

I think the point is that Sr. Can and hopefully will pay, but Richt shouldn't ask him to.

If the kid is division material, the family should absolutely not pay his tuition. We didn't ask Ray Lewis to pay or any other legacy.

you guys are crazy this kid has earned a scholarship. if his dad wants to donate then so be it, but that don't have anything to do with Jr.

The 105 cap is only in effect until the first day of classes or the first game whichever occurs first, so it is not a big obstacle to overcome. Just select a couple walk-ons and notify them that they are welcome to return in the fall but won't be able to practice or play until you can expand the 105 limit (and provide the date).

With that being said, IMHO, neither of these 2 will be walk-ons .

17.10.2.1.2 Limit on Number of Participants—Bowl Subdivision. [FBS] In bowl subdivision
football, there shall be a limit of 105 student-athletes who may engage in practice activities prior to the
institution’s first day of classes or the institution’s first contest, whichever occurs earlier. (Adopted: 1/11/94,
Revised: 12/15/06)

You obviously haven´t read the arguments. Thanks for paying attention.

5x is absolutely correct. He either gets a schools because he deserves one or walks on like Testaverde.
