Is Martell eligible in 2019?

This is the only thing that should be discussed right now. It's the $1 million question.

Can this kid play in 2019? I've heard a thousand rumors all over the place. But his transfer is great news for Miami, obviously. If he's eligible immediately, it's beyond huge. I don't want N'Kosi Perry anywhere near my football field on 8/31, which is a colossal game right out the gate.

So....who knows FOR SURE? I've heard the kid is graduating in May and will be a grad transfer. I know for sure he enrolled in the spring of 2017. So that's spring, summer, fall of 2017, spring, summer, fall of 2018, and here we are in spring of 2019. Can he really have graduated that fast? And this "graduating in May" stuff. Is that from OSU? Does he plan to go back to Columbus and complete his undergrad degree this spring/early summer and report to Miami as a grad transfer in the summer?

This is a huge question. Who has the goods on what this kid's plan is? If he has to sit out in 2019, it's great for 2020 and 2021. But if he's eligible immediately, that's a SIGNIFICANTLY bigger story.

Does Urban Meyer retiring affect his eligibility at all? I thought if there’s a HC change players could transfer without sitting out a year?

He would have to graduate by May. I'm not sure where Martell stands in that regard but I've read it's a possibility.

He enrolled in January 2017. If he stays at Ohio Taint until May 2019, it will be 2.5 academic years (3 spring semesters, 2 fall semesters). In addition, he could have taken courses over 2 summer sessions, plus have college credit from high school coursework (dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, etc.). There are also CLEP tests that can be taken.

You have to remember that NORMAL college students are usually able to graduate in 4 years without taking summer classes (15 credits per semester for 8 non-summer semesters).

He already figured out how to graduate HS early (Bishop Gorman did not allow early graduation).

It's very possible that Tate has been figuring out how to crack this nut for a while.

That is what I think too. Field's issue have nothing to do with football and everything to do with how ****** the people of Athens, GA are. Tate's coach was involved in a serious scandal and was forced to retire due to mental health. Tate was Urban's hand picked guy and he got cucked the second the man leaves...

It's unlikely Martell gets any type of hardship waiver that Fields is likely going to get. Fields had to hire a lawyer who specializes in this specific type of bylaw. Even then, the key to getting Fields the waiver is the Georgia president going on record about the racist crap.
