Is Luke injured?

If you watched the game you would have seen that Miami had very few possessions in the game.
Game went about as "perfect to plan" as could imagine.

Total control of the clock and and measured first downs.

Almost as if they weren't trying for huge explosive plays but rather to move the chains efficiently and march down field...

The BCC’s game plan probably cost the a few possessions. They bled the clock all the way down before snapping the ball. They knew they were gonna get blown out so might as well treat the game as practice even if you’re on the bad side.

Emory has been in the system for two years. Mario and the staff love his work ethic and he’s been a team player and his approach to Ward and Beck coming in. He knows his role. He’s likely a career back up.

Difficult to say on Anderson and Nickel, but I would not be surprised if one left in the next portal cycle. I would expect Miami to bring in another quarterback. Who knows if there’s another presumed starter like Cam Ward or Carson Beck? We were fortunate experienced starters who decided to pass on the draft made themselves available. Not a given for next season.

One of the benefits of NIL is a projected mid-round draft pick can decide to stay one more year in college, cash in, and work on developing and improving his stock the following year. Especially at Miami where he will have a solid offensive line and skill players. Who are those players might be remaining to be seen.

I keep reading about the single portal window proposal. There are pros and cons I suppose but overall I think it’s a good idea. The college football calendar is really screwed up and this potentially a good start to fixing the problem.

While i get the point that everyone wants to see Nickel in a game, I imagine the coaches think that reps daily versus a real defense in practice (and i get he is probably getting less of those during season) weighs more than reps versus Bethune's backups in the 4th quarter. I don't know why we always feel like practice doesn't matter in QB debates generally as fans. He's gonna earn playing or not on greentree.

@Trav and I went back and forth on this prior to the game.

I understand Emory is the backup and he's likely earned that, but I think the staff knows he's never a starter here either. I would like to get Nickel some live reps so that he is at least somewhat ready to compete next season for the gig.

I watched the spring game and it's just totally different with Emory vs. Luke. Luke brought juice. Emory is Emory. He's what we've seen when bullets are live.

Edit: Here's my post from spring game.
